This was our first spring break taking the kids with us who are 8 and 10 and we had a wonderful time! The staff was very friendly and attentive-the rooms were spacious and comfortable especially the bathroom-we could all 4 be in there at the same time getting ready! Kids club was AWESOME for the boys and they loved being there and meeting new friends. Claudia was their favorite "teacher" there and does a wonderful job with the kids. The grounds were immaculate and the iguanas were fun to see. Our only criticism is the people they allow on the grounds to hound you to get a time share! The food was good-nobody got sick-the beach and activities were very nice. The extras are spendy and we did get skunked deep sea fishing but made up for it by taking us snorkeling where the divers were. We would go again!

We were at Cozumel Occidental Grand from March 11 until March 18. It was our first visit to Cozumel, but it will NOT be our last. There were 7 of us from age 14 to 70+. Six were certified divers with four of them new to ocean diving.

We used Palancar Dive Shop there at the hotel and all were extremely pleased with the attention to detail. The six divers did shallow, deep, wall, sunset, and night dives. Gustavo was the excellent divemaster. He and his crew were cheerful and helpful.

Everything was clean and well kept. Even though some hurricane damage could be seen in the trees and new plant replacement, buildings were in perfect working order. Everywhere we went there were smiling workers either cleaning or gardening.

We liked the food, especially the buffets because we have a few picky eaters in our family. The entertainment at night was fun and impressive.

The beach and water were beautiful and we were surprised at how pleasant the temperature was -- not too hot, not too cool -- just perfect! Different members of our party partook of everything, diving, windsurfing, hobie cat sailing, parasailing, kayaking, and just beach living. Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed at the Occidental Grand from Feb 22st-March 5th 2006. We were married in the beach palapa on Feb 25. I can not believe how happy we were with everything. We had been there a year before, so there was some obvious damage to the property, but it was still amazing. It will be back to it's former beauty in no time. It greened up in the time were were there. We stayed at the Royal Club and truly felt like Royalty. The staff is MUCH IMPROVED from last year. The rooms were spotless and the shower is so amazing I had to mention it. Ricardo did an amazing job planning the ceremony and the reception. All was top notch. Landy did an amazing job making us feel welcome at every meal. Danielle was an amazing bartender with his "special"margaritas. We actually enjoyed the time share presentation and bought in. The food... well, it is what you make of it. The guacamole was supurb and plentiful and the poblano soup is to die for. Try the drink called the "dirty monkey". Snorkeling with Juan, Juan and Javier was amazing. Rent a jeep and tour the Island... it is breathtaking. If you are there for Carnivale, definitely take it in for a night. Just go into it with an open mind and remember to just go with the flow and RELAX!

The Hotel is FABULOUS! great Ambionce - friendly attentive staff, great beach and snorkeling...HOWEVER - the food for Breakfast and Lunch was Awful. Always cold, same old pre-prepared foods, cold (never Hot) except the eggs cause they make those by requests - and no variety - same everyday! Very disappointed in the QUALITY and food at breakfast and lunch. Evening restraunts were average - but the hotel, cleanliness, accomidations, beach, pools, service - FABULOUS!!!
