My wife and I have been going to Cozumel for years. We have stayed at Casa Colonial for the last eight (8) years!! We would not be repeat guests if the place was not one of if not the best place to stay on the island. The villas are spotless; the garden is lush and well maintained; the pool and Jacuzzi are great!! Amentities are extension and the maid service is excellent. An added bonus is the concierge service that is provided by Bob and Sarah Rodriguez the owners. Cannot wait to stay there in the future.

Being our first trip to Cozumel, my husband and I did a lot of research about the island and where to stay. We did not want to stay at a large hotel with thousands of other people, so Casa Colonial was a perfect fit. Each villa is beautifully decorated in the colonial style, and the surrounding garden and pool are tranquil. Bob and Sarah's attention to detail does not go unnoticed.

Sarah and Teresa made sure we had everything we needed from the moment they met us at the airport to the time we left. Sarah's recommendations for diving, dining, shopping, and Mayan ruin tours were exceptional.

Situated in the middle of town, we were warmly greeted by the locals as we walked around the block to the market and around the next block to buy warm, freshly-made tortillas-another of Sarah's recommendations.

  • Liked — Its location, attractive decor, and courteous hosts
  • Disliked — The bed was a little on the firm side, but not unbearable.

This condominium is in a very run down and seedy part of Cozumel. The amenities are very basic and the locals are somewhat creepy. The hostess did not go out of her way to provide
any sort of tips or information other than to take the money and go.
The neighborhood dogs barked from 4:00pm until 3:00am the next morning, creating many sleepless nights.(We had to use tissue in our ears). Advice - stay at the "all inclusives".

Management response from CasaColonialCozumel, Owner
(Management representative)
Apr 9, 2007
The person who wrote the review reserved all four villas so that she could renew her wedding vows. She stayed with us before and loved Casa Colonial. That is why she wanted to come back. Several people in her party cancelled on her and in turn she cancelled two villas on us. She cancelled two villas and kept two. This cancellation was during our high season and I had turned away many other people so that we could honor her reservation. When I was unable to re-lease the two villas that she cancelled in the short time I was given, she lost her non-refundable deposit as per our contract. She told me that unless I gave her a full refund she would write this review; basically blackmail.

Casa Colonial is one of Cozumels finest vacation rentals and this slanderous review is simply not an accurate representation of our establishment. If you read the other reviews you can see how out of place it really is.

Thank you for your consideration.

We had the most excellent time here - Sara and Bob took care of our every need from booking a diving trip to arranging for a massage to letting us know where to eat. The villas are beautiful, spacious and super clean. They didn't miss a trick.

We just returned from Cozumel and spent 7 nights at Casa Colonial this is a great place to stay. The villas are kept spotless, the pool is wonderful and only having to share it with people in the other 3 villas its wonderful. Christa the manager was great and was there with whatever you needed help with.

The only down falls were it was a little father back in town then I would have liked but if you were having a lazy day you could taxi to the square/waterfront for $2.00 or $3.00 US dollars.

The beds were only queen size in both rooms but seemed real small a little pet peeve of mine is to get king beds, you are on vacation why be more cramped than you are at home. We were informed that they are replacing 1 bed in each villa with a king. They should replace both all 4 villas when we were there had 2 adult couples in them - so one couple would have the comfort and the other would not.

Do not get me wrong this is a wonderful place to stay and we would stay there again in a heart beat.
