My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 8 day stay at the EL Cid in Cozumel to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We have stayed at many resorts and the hospitality at this hotel is unsurpassed. All of the staff, including the housekeeping service, restaurant wait staff and lobby personnel made our stay a trully wonderful experience. Jaime the concierge could not have been more helpful and is truly a great representative for not only the El Cid but also for Cozumel. Among other things he arranged a deep sea fishing trip for us with a great crew.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite in the tower section. The room was large, well equipped and kept impeccably clean by the very pleasant housekeepers. I would highly recommend the El Cid to anyone planning a trip to Cozumel.

Just returned from a weeks R&R at El Cid La Ceiba. This was our second stay at La Ceiba and would certainly return for a third. The staff was wonderful and could not do enough to please. The food was very good and the two special dinners (BBQ on the Beach and the Mexican Night on the pool deck) were outstanding.

We booked this hotel as part of a package purchased through RCI Cruise and Resort Vacations. We love to snorkel on our southern vacations and I read that Cozumel was the best location in Mexico for diving and snorkeling, so away we went. We stayed in a studio apartment with a kitchen. We chose not to go for the optional all-inclusive because we expected to be away from the resort at times and didn't want to feel we had to get back to the resort to eat meals. It worked perfectly. There was snorkeling right outside the door with lots of colourful fish. We even saw a stingray. We also snorleked in 3 other locations and saw turltes, huge, huge tropical fish and a shark.

The hotel was very clean and the service was excellent. There's an outdoor spa near the beach. We did eat at the resort a couple of times and the food was excellent. I had read comments about being very near the Cruise ship pier and though I had some concerns about it, they were unfounded. The ships arrived early in the morning and were gone before supper. It made for interesting people watching from our balcony when we were around. I can't say enough about this place. I would definitely go back again. I can't speak for any other accommodations, but the high rise section was very nice with ocean views. We were very, very pleased.

We travelled with our five people, including our four-year-old son. This is the fourth hotel we have visited in Cozumel, and it is the best we have experienced.
The hotel room was very nice, the food was great, the view was spectacular, and the service was great. Maid service left towels in different shapes each day - snake, little girl, boat, etc. - which my son loved. The service in La Chopa was great, and the buffet was spectacular. My son expecially enjoyed having watermelon juice to drink at breakfast. The room comes with an aromatherapy menu and guests can choose from a pillow menu, as well. My favorite part was the massage - very relaxing - and my husband loved the two-for-one happy hour every night. My son loved the pools and saltwater fountain area.
On the other hand, the cruise ships are close and noisy at times, the maid service lef the door to our room open one day, and the elevators are a little cramped. Nothing that would prevent me from returning to this hotel again, though.
