We stayed at the Casa Mexicana from July 1st -July 6th. We have always stayed in the Riveria Maya area. Since we are scuba divers, we decided to stay at Cozumel. We were pleasantly surprised! First off, the car rental for the time we were on the island was $14.00 per day verses the usual $60.00 plus at Cancun. The airport at Cozumel was ok. The only negative was having to walk about 1/4 mile to the rental car agency. There is no shuttle. We only used $20.00 worth of gas the whole time and we went all over the island. Now the Casa Mexicana; we always read the reviews on Trip Advisor. We checked them all about this hotel. All were right on the money! The place is centraly located right in town. You can park for free in the shopping area were the cruise ships come in, (1) block from the hotel. The hotel was spotless! We recieved a nice cold towel and a fresh glass of fruit juice apon arrival. We booked an ocean view room, which was worth it. The private balcony was awesome for late night entertainment! The room was spotless and the maid service surperb! The place was quiet, the breakfast buffet was top of the line, with cooked to order eggs, fresh friut and superb service. I would say if you had to pay for the breakfast of this quality out it would cost around $15.00. The pool was small, but big deal. It was clean and refreshing. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will reserve a room again here the next time we come back. P.S. Spend the extra peso's for the ocean front/view room. It was worth it!

Casa Mexican turned out to be perfect for us. It is on the south part of town ; 15 minutes to the ferry or the main shopping plaza ; 5 minutes to Chadraui (best supermarket), and short taxi to dive shop. Central A/C was strong and quiet... we had to turn it down! Breakfast was incredible : fresh fruit, lox and cheese, yogurt, made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, and at least one special dish each day.
Absolutely spotless. Staff was very helpful.
Great value for price considering the location, breakfast, and great A/C.

Great place to stay, specially the ocean view rooms where you can see all the cruise ships right infront of your balcony.

Ask for an ocean view room, it is definitly worth it and if you call them directly, ask for the corporate rate as it will save you some bucks!

Great friendly service and a very nice location close to all the downtown activities and shops.

I will definetly come back next year to the Casa Mexicana.

My wife and I keep coming back to this hotel every time we come to Cozumel. We stayed here on our honeymoon, and with just a little bit of advance notice, the staff always puts us up in the same room.
Great view of the ocean, super clean, first rate staff, and surprisingly quiet even though it's right downtown. Amazing breakfast buffet.
Did I mention that we stay here every time we come to Cozumel? There's a reason...
If you prefer European Plan vacations instead of all-inclusive resorts, this is the place to be.

My husband and I just returned from our 5th trip to Cozumel and we were very pleased with the Casa Mexicana Hotel. In the past, we've lodged some distance from the downtown area. However, we will stay at the Casa Mexicana from now on. We loved the convenient location, right next door to everything - dive shops, shopping, car rentals, great restaurants, El Centro, the ferry, and docks. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous - a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. The staff at Casa Mexicana was incredibly helpful (ask Fernando for one of his awesome margaritas) and the free breakfast alone is worth staying there. Not to mention how clean the place is kept. We also loved keeping in touch and forwarding photos to family, thanks to their great internet room. The pool is fairly small, so it might not be an ideal place for children or anyone requiring a large swimming area.
We were delighted that the hotel was within walking distance of La Mission and Prima restaurants. THE BEST eating in Cozumel! We also enjoyed diving with Black Shark Dive Shop. The reefs aren't what they were before the hurricane, but we adore Cozumel and always have wonderful trips. This one was the best yet!
