This is my second time to Cozumel. This time was a 6 day visit, hotel is an unbeatable all inclusive deal.
Check in took 30+ minutes, really disappointing, they need to move the lines quicker, I have never stood in line at the desk for this long anywhere.




I feel this Hotel is really under rated. Everything was extrememly clean. The rooms were very nice. Auto climate control. Almost Luxury Modern bathrooms.

Something we didnt realize after reading the reviews is that the ocean front is across the street with sand, 2 infinity pools with bars, snack bar everything. To get there they made an underpass to walk under the road so you never have to actually cross a street, its nicely decorated, and its not a far distance at all. Just be sure you go over there because everything is MUCH better on that side than at the main pool which is mostly shaded becasue of the trees.

Lots of activities throughout the day. Beware the volleyball court only has about 1-2 feet of sand, underneath is concrete. Really messed up my toe one day, others will too throughout the week.

Staff is great, helpful, and polite. Our group was couples 25-29, we did not get bothered for timeshares at all.
Just had a great time.

Sports bar is really modern.

Food-I always found something to get by for Dinner. Breakfast omlets are fantastic, love the white cheese they use in Mexico!

Not to many people in their 20s, mostly married 35+ singing karoke, but thats typical of Cozumel.

I would stay at this resort again!

We stayed 2 nights at Park Royal when our original hotel overbooked and had to send us here for 2 nights until they had a room available for the rest of our stay. We stayed Thur and Fri night (2/21-2/22) and had a very enjoyable stay. We were in the 2nd tower on the 9th level and although the elevators were slow at times, the view from our balcony was amazing. We could see all the resort, beach and the cruise ships that docked nearby. The food at the buffet was very good and we were told by other guests to try the Caribbean restaurant and we thought that was also good and their desserts were amazing so make sure to leave room! The beach was very small but had several deck areas where you could lay overlooking the water. There was a cover/rocks next to the beach that you could walk on and look at the fish in the water which was very cool. As a guest, you can use snorkeling equipment for free for 2 hours (not sure why someone else said 1 hr in their review) and then its $9 extra per person per hour past that 2 hr period....which I thought was plenty of time. There were tons of fish nearby the beach and there was lots of areas in water to find fish hiding in rocks, etc. I was suprised that there was a $2 per day fee for using a security box in the room and $5 per day for gym (which we didn't use). I would recommend the hotel and the service was very good. The activities for familes was lacking and could be improved.

We booked thru expedia & stayed for 6 nights/7 days. Upon arriving you are overwhelmed w/sales people in the airport. All we wanted was a cab to the hotel, finally someone outside in the taxi line was able to direct to the shuttle service. It costs $32. for 4 to take the shuttle to the hotel. the taxi's were not allowed to take us (at least that is what we were told). Upon arriving check-in was seemless (arriving at 12:30pm). We couldn't check into the hotel until 3pm so they kept our bags in a safe room while we checked out the grounds and had lunch. The beach area is amazing. Lots of different places to choose from. We had no problem getting chairs every day. We noticed that people were reserving the "primo" spots w/towels on the chairs so we also did that a few days when we wanted under a tiki hut or shade. The safe is $2. extra per day which is not a big deal to us. Better safe than sorry. It was big enough to fit our lap top, camera, small purse, jewelry box, etc. The bars at every location where quick to serve you - my only complaint was that they don't open until 11am. It would have been nice to have water, coke, etc. before then. The breakfast at the Buffet is GREAT! American style food w/lots of choices. The guys couldn't get enough of the french toast and made to order omelets. Lunch for us was usually at the snack bar by the beach - hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. It was fair. Dinner we tried all 3 restaurants, the mexican is average, nothing like the states version. Our favorite was the Itailian - yummie brushetta and salad bar as well as good entrees. The carribean had the best view of course but we aren't much into fish/seafood entrees so they had a limited selection for us. The desserts at every restaurant were awful. We also enjoyed the spa services of a massage and it was very nice and affordable. Our biggest complaints---- our room was across from the amphitheater and they have a show every night at 9pm. We usually were ready to go to bed by 9 or 9:30 and it kept us up. Definintely make sure you do not have a room in that location if you have children. Secondly they have a terrible gift shop. Not much is there in the way of snacks or souvieners. Thirdly they are missing is an ATM or currency exchange which would have been helpful and lastly the housekeeping doesn't come unitl very late - like 4pm for us so we have to time getting ready for our evening around that. We NEVER got hassled by the time share people and went the the lobby quite often. They have a very nice business center w/4 computers that you can use from 7am -11pm to check emails, get on the internet, etc. The facilities are very clean and nice. We loved getting the snorkel, fins, etc. to snorkel off the beach area - they let us keep them for 2hrs at a time. The guys rented tanks for dive with for $7 each. They had all of the equipment w/them but thought it was nice they would let you "free" dive from the beach area. We enjoyed volleyball, water aerobics, stretching classes, dance lessons, and friendship bracelet classes as well as BINGO. They have many activities if you get sick of laying in the sun - if that is possible :) Town was very safe and we had dinner twice there as well as did some shopping. If you are looking for an excusion we did the Fury Catamaran snorkeling excursion and it was very nice and fun. We saw the most fish right off the hotel beach area around 3pm. For some reason they seem to be "eatting" then. Overall the water is beautiful and something i hope stays in my head forever, the hotel is very clean and nice and at least for us they were pretty accomodating. Would return again! (one more thing - hot tubs are cold - just a warning - but they were warmer than the pools)

I traveled to Cozumel for one week ( Feb 21-26, 2008). The hotel grounds were immaculate... rooms were beautifully prepared! The staff was friendly and very helpful... very accomodating to our every need! The food at the restaurants as well as the buffet were delicious... great snacks at the bars near the pools... I was constantly snacking at the Bikin Bar!

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Park Royal to any traveler.. single, mature or family!!! We will definitely return to stay here on our next visit to Mexico's Yucatan!
