Just got back from a great family vacation at the wyndham cozumel. The entertainment staff made this trip our best trip so far. I have stayed at nicer hotels, but this is the first time that we truely were treated like friends! Thanks so much to Shura, Barney/Manuel, Arturo, Luis, Lorena and the rest of the staff. We met lots of new friends around the activity pool and made lots of memories. Thanks so much to the water volley ball and water polo maniacs of Feb 9 to 16, we hope to see you all again someday.
to get to more of the details about the hotel...
Rooms, we stayed in a timeshare studio, king size bed and pull out couch, the bed was very nice but I would not put an adult on the pull out couch. bar fridge with pop water and beer, toaster, coffee maker and blender, nice sized bathroom and very nice decor. Our room was spotless every day with lovely towel creatures and flowers.
We were in building 38, it was a long way from the activity pool but close to the members pool that we never used because it seemed very boring.
Restaurants, we only ate at the buffet and the snack bar, but we did hear very nice things about mosaic. The food was fine ( the omellet lady was great) nothing really to brag about but we never went hungry or got sick. I dont know if they need more staff or more dishes or just more organization, but we would often have to wait a long time for utensils or water or coffee or on occasion help our selves to what we needed. Even though we did have to wait quite a bit, the wait staff were always pleasant when they could be found. Loved the tacos, the tender beef the rice and the eggrolls.
Snack bar is a sit down and wait for the waiter snack bar. The staff were running like crazy and very good with the orders, but still it was often a long wait. The selection was not great in my opinion they need to add some quesadillas for a nice light snack, Oh and ice cream would be very popular.
Bars there was only one bar open around the activity pool during the day and there was quite often a line-up in the sun.
There was also a timeshare members bar by the members pool, but we rarely used it. There was a lobby bar in the evenings that had a good selection of liquer but seemed a little too formal for my tastes.
the beach was beautiful and long, but the entrance was rocky and the snorkling was not very good. I did like that they had placed some well hidden sandbags to use as stepping stones to get into the water and they provided some floating islands to relax on when you swim out.
the evening entertainment was the best that we have experienced in our may trips to mexico. The staff were enthusiastic and talented, they had a nice combination of performance and audience participation. And all of the shows were suitable for family entertainment.
Overall we had a great time and will most likely return, and recommend the resort to friends
