Just got back from a great family vacation at the wyndham cozumel. The entertainment staff made this trip our best trip so far. I have stayed at nicer hotels, but this is the first time that we truely were treated like friends! Thanks so much to Shura, Barney/Manuel, Arturo, Luis, Lorena and the rest of the staff. We met lots of new friends around the activity pool and made lots of memories. Thanks so much to the water volley ball and water polo maniacs of Feb 9 to 16, we hope to see you all again someday.

to get to more of the details about the hotel...

Rooms, we stayed in a timeshare studio, king size bed and pull out couch, the bed was very nice but I would not put an adult on the pull out couch. bar fridge with pop water and beer, toaster, coffee maker and blender, nice sized bathroom and very nice decor. Our room was spotless every day with lovely towel creatures and flowers.
We were in building 38, it was a long way from the activity pool but close to the members pool that we never used because it seemed very boring.

Restaurants, we only ate at the buffet and the snack bar, but we did hear very nice things about mosaic. The food was fine ( the omellet lady was great) nothing really to brag about but we never went hungry or got sick. I dont know if they need more staff or more dishes or just more organization, but we would often have to wait a long time for utensils or water or coffee or on occasion help our selves to what we needed. Even though we did have to wait quite a bit, the wait staff were always pleasant when they could be found. Loved the tacos, the tender beef the rice and the eggrolls.

Snack bar is a sit down and wait for the waiter snack bar. The staff were running like crazy and very good with the orders, but still it was often a long wait. The selection was not great in my opinion they need to add some quesadillas for a nice light snack, Oh and ice cream would be very popular.

Bars there was only one bar open around the activity pool during the day and there was quite often a line-up in the sun.
There was also a timeshare members bar by the members pool, but we rarely used it. There was a lobby bar in the evenings that had a good selection of liquer but seemed a little too formal for my tastes.

the beach was beautiful and long, but the entrance was rocky and the snorkling was not very good. I did like that they had placed some well hidden sandbags to use as stepping stones to get into the water and they provided some floating islands to relax on when you swim out.

the evening entertainment was the best that we have experienced in our may trips to mexico. The staff were enthusiastic and talented, they had a nice combination of performance and audience participation. And all of the shows were suitable for family entertainment.

Overall we had a great time and will most likely return, and recommend the resort to friends

My wife and I stayed at Sabor for a week February 2008. We had a great time and enjoyed all aspects of Sabor and the entire Wyndham resort. Our pool terrace room was great and also had privacy from the central Sabor pool area (request a room in the elevated buildings - well worth the short wait).

Beach: As past reviews have mentioned, the beach is a little rocky. Not a big deal - bring water shoes people. Also, the beach area by the kids pool and Aura resort is quiet and relaxing.

Food: We ate at all the restaurants (Mosaique/Sabor, Roberto's, and Vista Del Mar). Food was great for an all-inclusive. In our opinion, the service and quality of food was the best at Mosaique/Sabor.

Sabor Bar & Lounge: Good drinks and good service.

Front Desk: Ricardo & the other staff were great! They answered all our questions and were extremely helpful.

Spa: Great couples massage and excellent service.

Excursions: Booked a couple with Fiesta reps at the main resort front desk that we enjoyed (Jeep Tour and Snorkeling).

Entertainment: The shows we went to were good. Oscar and Laura did a good job informing and keeping everyone involved.

Bring singles for tipping. It is pathetic to see that many others didn't reward the staff members for their good service.

Unfortunately, there were not seperate smoking areas at the outside seating areas in the restaurants/bars. Probably far fetched but there were some really heavy smokers and we are used to no-smoking in restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. in the Northeast.

Overall it was a great stay and would highly recommend Sabor.

Me & my family stayed at the Sabor for 2 weeks January 31-Feb 14th, 2008. This place as the most amazing caring staff that really pay attention to detail & want to make your trip enjoyable. There is no where else I would want to stay for 2 weeks! The resort itself is very quiet and relaxing, with enough activities to do if you like to. The staff get people involved when they want to, take the time to get to know them... you'll love them! We had 3 pool terrace rooms and i highly suggest them, having a pool right outside of your balcony is so neat! The restaraunts far exceeded our expectations, and the service is impeccable... many times we ordered extra appetizers and desserts! The beach is nice, it is rocky to get into the water.... but it never stopped us! Check out the shows at night, they do a great job & put a lot of work into them. I highly suggest this place for anybody & will be back... possibly maybe even to live for awhile! Say a big hello to Ricardo, Laura, Oscar, Hilario, Christian, Mario, Enrique & Goose (at the watersports). Please remember when you travel they are people too & just trying to do their job making you happy! Cant wait to go back!

My husband and I and another couple were at the Wyndham (Reef Club) from Feb 2nd to the 9th. I was nervous about the hotel after reading other posts but we were all very pleasantly surprised. The front desk people were very kind and helpful (even after losing my room key and having to have another made-twice). The activity people were outstanding (Barney, Arturo, Loreena, etc). There was always something to participate in although at times there was no one but myself and my girlfriend doing water aerobics and strecthing since everyone else were party poopers. The shows at night were also very good. You have to hand it to the activity group, they are there from morning to late at night! We thought the food was very good. Loved the International restaurant. We enjoyed eating outside in the evenings by the ocean. Also, in the evenings they had a great 3 piece band, the lead singer has an amazing voice. Nothing like dancing under the stars after a great meal. The snorkeling behind the hotel was fantastic. There were tons of fish, more than we saw on a snorkeling trip we took while there! The maid service could have been a little better but heck, we were in Mexico while my friends were freezing their tails off in Wisconsin. The day we left we had hugs from the staff. Thanks Wyndham for a great vacation and looking forward to seeing everyone again next year.

We stayed in the Regency Club section for a week Jan 26-Feb 2, 2008, having stayed there many times, sometimes twice a year. Lots of returning people this trip. I agree with the review from Clevendnc with the exception of the VIP bar. This was the first time that they continually ran out of the premium stock brands. That was a small part of the reason we became members, besides the room upgrades. They need to work on having more high end tequila, baileys and bacardi anjeo on hand. They would get in a bottle and within maybe 2 hours it would be gone and not restocked until late the next day. (maybe we all just had way too many dirty monkeys, mudslides, shots and rum & cokes) I will say that Tomas and Luis were wonderful. We enjoy seeing them every year as well as Benito, Patricia G. and Isela V., they help to make our visits such a pleasure. Glen was correct about they now serve chicken at the snack bar - it was really yummy. Check in went much smoother this trip, could be because we arrived late due to weather. I was there the day security was picking up lots of personal items from the beach chairs. He had picked up something of mine when I went to use the facilities, but returned it to me as we passed on my way back to the lounge chair. Unfortunately not so with several others, they had to go to the front desk. It was definately a first on this issue, have never had that happen before in all of the 8-9 years we have been going there. So hope Glen helped to resolve that issue for future guests. Over all the weather was Great, the room was clean, food was good and the visit is now being missed as we have had two major snow falls since returning home. Wish we were back there and not shoveling. Robin
