“Chankanaab National Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

We have been a number of times to the park as often times cruise ships stop in Cozumel, Mexico. It is a 5 minute taxi ride from the port to the park ($11 for our party of 4) You need to pay admission into the park ($21 pp/discount coupons on their website). There is a nice beach area with easy access via stairs into the water for excellent snorkeling with a number of marked statues, etc. for viewing - not that you need something else with all the wildlife there. Don't miss out on swimming all the way down to the right (as you face the ocean) as you can swim right up to the dolphin enclosures and the ones that aren't "working" will come over to say hello. There are nice little thatched umbrellas and chairs for relaxing free of charge. There is a restaurant there and someone comes around the beach for drink orders, etc. if you like that. They have expanded with a number of exhibits and you can pay extra for a swim with the dolphin experience as well - very fun! We find the SCUBA diving there excellent shallow dives at an affordable price. We like the company El Clavado (booth #3) which is right there on the beach - be sure to ask for Favio, he's awesome and we have dove with him many times and he always remembers us. If you're diving there they have lockers for your valuables. The restrooms are immaculate with staff there maintaining it all the time and ensuring everyone washes their feet before entering, etc. (lockers for rent as well)

“Independent trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

My husband and I took a taxi from the port to the park for $11. We printed the $2 off coupon so we paid $19 each to enter. We brought our own snorkeling equipment so we didn't rent anything. I read the food was not a smart choice, so we didn't even try. We snorkeled for hours and we walked through their little garden and saw the sea lion show when we needed a break from the water. There are lockers, though we did not use them. There are also showers, which are very needed after the salty water. We saw a large variety of fish and coral. I really liked doing the snorkeling on our own. It's much nicer to swim when not surrounded by large groups of people. Considering there were 3 ships in port that day, this place was surprisingly not crowded. I think all the employees speak English. As Spanish speakers, we had to ask the employees to speak Spanish, as English was the default language. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing place to snorkel, away from crowded tourist groups.

“Who doesn't want to swim with dolphins?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

Souvenir photos are VERY expensive, but what a cool experience. The trainers are very friendly and seem to really love their work. There are different options for your dolphin experience. We chose the least expensive and were each able to have the dolphins perform tricks. There is also a short and amusing sea lion show and a very nice botanical garden. There is also a pool and restaurant there, so you can easily spend a whole day here.

Fantastic! Great food and fun! Swam with the dolphins and threw on a pair of goggles and jumped in the water..I swear it was like swimming in a fishbowl. Jorge and Arturo were wonderful♥
