“Priced right”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We stayed 1st week of October, slow season. The superior room is a good choice as these are a bit larger than the standard room, but if you’re not in the room much, does size matter. The location is very convenient to the dive operations we use, Papa Hogs, right next door and you can book with them for a combo stay and dive package that saves a few dollars. As everyone says the hotel does a great job in maintaining a very clean property, water was hot and pressure was great. The week we stayed they only had around 10 rooms occupied, but filled up to capacity the day we left. This was our 4th stay and it’s not the Palace, but it's half the money. We ate 2 nights at Nemo's and both were excellent, he offers a fixed price menu for $14.00 that covered main dish, plus salad and dessert. The Grouper was some of the best we'd had ever. As we were only 1 of 2 couples eating, I can't comment on service when real busy. If you’re looking for the best of Cozumel on a smaller budget then this is the answer, if moneys not an issue – stay at the Presidente or the Palace.

“Great price, convenient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

I recently returned from a stay at the Villablanca Garden Beach Hotel. If you dive with one of the adjacent shops (I recommend Scuba Mau) it is as convenient a location as it gets for diving. For restaurants it is not so convenient and a taxi will be required to get to most other places. There is a restaurant on-site named Nemo's, it is small, with a very friendly staff, but it is pricey. The hotel itself is very affordable, the rooms are clean, but the beds could be better. The staff is very friendly and attentive and they will go out of their way to meet your needs. Avoid the hot tub at all costs. It was a luke warm petri dish.

“Decent hotel, great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

This was our second stay at the Villablanca Garden Beach Hotel, and we enjoy staying here as it is close to our scuba dive shop and directly across the street from the Villa Blanca Reef where we do our checkout dives and easy shore dives.

We've dined in the hotel restaurant, Nemo, twice also, each time for dinner. The first time was fabulous, with excellent service - but we were the only diners this particular week night - and delicious food, but the second time was not so impressive. Dinner is quite expensive here compared to other restaurants in Cozumel.

Rooms are clean and well maintained, but we always stay in a Superior Room, which is larger. The hotel gives you two large water bottles upon checkin - water is not sanitary to drink in Cozumel - but you have to go to the front desk for free refills. Drinking water is not offered in your room or on your floor like other hotels in Cozumel feature.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are nicer, larger, and worth the upgrade.

“Great hotel, great price, friendly staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

This review is a little late but here goes! My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 8 nights in January 2012. We were really looking for a good deal, nothing too resorty. I found this on Booking.com for only $60 a night I think(it's been awhile!) so to me, that seemed like a great price! I have to say, it was really very nice! The room was a little bare-bones, nothing spectacular, but I'm really not a fussy girl, so it was just fine. It was a little loud though, the windows are wooden slates, so they never fully seal, so whatever is going on outside, you are gonna hear! I'm a very light sleeper and really didn't have too much of a problem with it though, only one night when the bar across the street stayed open late with a live band. Otherwise, pretty quiet. We also went on kind of an off time, so there really weren't too many people, which probably helped with the noise. So if you are looking for a party atmosphere, this hotel will most likely not be the place for you. We wanted to snorkel and there was a pretty good amount of stuff to see out front of the hotel, although it was hard to get to. No beach, that's a bummer but many of these smaller places don't have them anyway. If you walk down to Casa Del Mar, they have a little beach and area with steps to get into the water. So most days, we would walk down there, hop in the water and have the current take us back to the Villablanca. Very nice and relaxing! Getting out was a little difficult! The pool at the hotel is very small and was freezing when we were there. The hotel has a little mart next door with gas station food, alcohol and beverages, so that was nice. It was also located near a few other bars and restaurants, so we didn't always have to go downtown. Technically, you could walk to downtown, it's definitely a walk but it can be done I think. We almost made it one night but were so hungry that we finally had to stop before we got there and eat. By the way, Rolandi's Italian Restaurants are amazing! If you get tired of the Mexican food, this is really great Italian food, we ate here multiple times! Back to the hotel, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We even got offered an upgrade to a better room by the manager without even asking! We declined though because we were already settled in our current room but it was just a really nice gesture. I highly recommend this hotel. If you want a good price but don't want or need to stay at a fancy hotel or resort, then this is a great place to stay.

“Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

One of the best hotels i've ever been, is just perfect, the pool, the gardens, the restaurant, and infront of everything there's the beautiful caribean sea, the jacuzi, the rooms, oh, the rooms and the pillows, the bed is just like heaven, it has a tennis court, and it's like a fancy jungle, it has a free spa and gym... LOVE IT!! and the price, OMG is soo good, i could go there like every holyday!

Room Tip: The best ones are the ones parallels to the pool
