The Management was friendly and honest. Rooms were clean, straight forward, though rustic. Plumbing was spartan in our fourth floor room--no toilet paper down the commode, for instance, (but we probably shouldn't be doing that anyway). Linens were fresh and clean, though the beds were a little hard. Great place if your main interest is diving, diving, and more diving--and you don't care about frills.

We spent a week here and enjoyed it. The hotel is not fancy, but has tv, air conditioning, free internet in the lobby(have to ask for the computer), pool, and plenty of hammocks. It is about a mile walk to town, which we felt 100% safe walking to even at night. Most guests are divers although we were not. Accomodations are very basic, but being on the water was really nice. There really isn't a beach, but you can grab a hammock or a pool chair and relax the day away. The attached dive shop will rent you snorkel gear if you want to snorkel right by the hotel. The restaurant was disappointing. The day we went there were tons of bugs (outdoors) and the prices of ice cream seemed to fluctuate with who was the cashier that day.

I just spent another great Thanksgiving week in Cozumel with the Caribe Blu and Blue Angel. Before arriving, I was concerned that the island really might not be prepared for guests yet but it turned out I had no reason to worry. The recovery from the hurricane was simply astonishing, and as always the hotel and dive shop staff treated me like family. This is a very clean quiet hotel, and I will stay there for the next 10 years! While the reefs were noticeably different in areas, the diving was still excellent with plenty of healthy coral and an abundance of life. The reefs at San Juan and Dalila were particularly beautiful and in great shape. Sightings included many turtles, nurse sharks, grouper, morays, barracuda, angelfish & numerous other tropicals, as well as several eagle rays and more lobster than I could count. Even the shore dive in front of the hotel still offers plenty of life, including moray & sharptail eels, squid, puffers, and scorpionfish. Cozumel is back and ready for visitors!

This is a great place to stay for divers. The hotel is very clean with spacious rooms and the staff super friendly and helpful. The best part is the combination of the hotel with the dive shop downstairs with a very accomodating and competent dive crew. The boats pick you us right outside the hotel and take you to a vast variety of spectacular dive locations. There is also a great little restaurant above the dive shop for breakfast, lunch and an early dinner...with nice Mexican food to eat! What more could you ask for!!!
