This is a great hotel with great staff. I stayed here for a week with my Mom and we had a great time. Cozumel in general is pretty laid back and this hotel is a great place to relax. They have a daily happy hour by the pool which is great and massages on the beach. A taxi ride into town was about $5. We took part in the time share thing that was there and although it was painful we did get a 1 day car rental for taking an hour out of our morning during breakfast. The rooms are not huge but are clean. All in all I would recommend this as a great family or low key destination.

My husband and I stayed at the Coral Princess during the week of our Anniversary. The hotel is in a great location near San Miguel's Square. I agree with other reviewers that they are skimpy on the liquor in their drinks. The hotel is a great location for divers. They have dive excursions available daily. Snorkeling at this location is great but my husband and I would have loved for the hotel to offer offshore snorkel trips also. Not enough people with the same request so unable to make snorkel trip to reef. All requests made prior to our arrival were met. View from room was incredible. The room appeared clean. At times the hallway outside our room seemed to have a sewer smell. My husband and I would return. We do feel that the hotel is a great value.

I stayed at the Coral Princess the week of November 10th, this was my 6th stay at the Coral Princess this year.
Since my last review back in March some things have gotten better, unfortunately a few significant problems remain.

The Good:
The Coral Princess continues to be a nice boutique style hotel located on beautiful water with friendly staff. Pepe's Scuba, the on site dive operator is excellent. The hotel is very clean inside and out, and the maid service is great. The food is good, and prices are reasonable. The hotel is now entirely non-smoking inside, rooms too.

The Bad:
-The Coral Princess hot tub has only been hot 1 out 6 stays. The staff will tell you it's broken, but that is a flat out lie. If you talk to the right person at the front desk it's magically fixed for that day only. I expect the hot tub to be heated throughout my stay.
-The swim-up bar has been closed since July, it would pay for itself in a couple hours, people are very eager enjoy it.
-The pools have been cold lately, usually one is warm.
-Last stay a hotel waiter/bartender asked me for money to help his family.
-Only one elevator is operating clearly to save money, but the hotel is starting to get busy again.
-There is not enough room in the double bed room to open the closet doors without moving one bed.

I had a reservation at the Coral Princess for December that I cancelled due to some of these recurring issues, specifically the cold hot tub, and closed swim-up bar. It's time to give my business to another hotel in Cozumel as I am sick of asking the front desk to heat the hot tub, just to hear it's broken stay after stay.

Just back from the Coral Princess and we found this hotel to be very clean and quiet. Keep in mind it was low season. We booked a one bedroom and two ocean view rooms. All three rooms very great. Always very clean with plenty of towels. As we had read in previous reviews the staff is great ,always there for a drink or just a joke . I found the hotel to be very nicely furnished a little Euoropean. The food was always good and we had know complaints about that. We did think they could put a little more alcohol in the drinks though. We went to cozumel to do some scuba diving and we used Eco dive again and as always very professional with a great team. Expect to pay 3-$5 for two people for a taxi to the ferry terminal one way. We walked into town several times and it will take about 30-40 mins. depending on your stride. BRING bug spray sun down and the bugs come out. Would stay at he corall princess again.

We stayed in one of the smaller rooms with two double beds. The closet doors would not open fully due to the beds. The AC worked well until the last night. The hotel tried to fix it when we called at 3:00 AM, but the unit required replacement. They did knock off $20 from the bill. The free wi-fi was pretty slow when it did work, which was only two of the five days we were there. The food in the restaurant was just ok. There are many really good restaurants in town, which is a $3 to $5 taxi ride, depending on if you ask the driver the cost before getting in. The staff were friendly and the water in the pools was warm. There is access to the ocean with a swim step. There are fish and eels close by, but most of the diving is less than 10' deep. It was good for checking out equipment. The hotel bar has a pool table and friendly bartenders. I would consider staying again, but would probably try another hotel next time.

A general comment for all people arriving in Cozumel by air: ignore the travel information desks at the exit and go directly to the Taxi booth. You have to pay for a taxi at the booth. If you go to the travel information desks, they will try to get you to buy a timeshare.
