This was the fourth time we've stayed at Coral Princess in four years and we have always had wonderful service and a great stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There seems to be a very low turnover rate for staff since we recognized many of the same staff members from previous years and, much to our surprise, they recognized us! We were there celebrating my wife's birthday and they were very attentive, upgrading us to an oceanview room and even sending up a birthday cake! The rooms are clean and well maintained. The complimentary continental breakfast we received as part of our travel package is good and for $2 more we could upgrade to a full breakfast. The poolside service is decent and the prices are reasonable for Cozumel.

The only complaint we had was the hot tub was pretty warm but not hot, but this seems to be very common at Mexican hotels.

The snorkeling was awesome as usual and the coral and marine life is really making a comeback since Wilma. We've even seen a 6' green moray eel (last year) and a 4' spotted eagle ray (this year) within 50 yds of the hotel! The 'usual' coral reef fish, small eels, and yellow sting rays are in great abundance. It is a platform beach with a 10' drop (not a beach walk-in) to get into the water, but the current and surf are generally pretty mild. For scuba diving, I used the on-site dive shop (Pepe Scuba) and received excellent service as I always have. They keep the number of divers small, are professional and very safety conscious.

We can't wait to go back next year!

We have returned from our vacation to the Coral Princess and had a wonderful stay. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The location to town is favorable. This hotel is a time share, but we were not bothered by the sales staff. The ocean view room was beautiful and very clean. We have been coming to Cozumel since 1988 and this hotel has to be one of the very best hotels. The restaurant food is very good and wait staff work very hard to insure you are satisfied. We will return next year to this hotel.

We have been staying at this proprety since 1995 and each year we find the staff, the food and the standards to be top notch. Pedro and Jimmie and the wait staff, Leandro, Lorenzo and others are not only professionals, but our friends. We feel safe here, taken care of here, and spoiled here.
The atmosphere is definitley laid back and you can find quiet and rest here without the "college-party, drink til you puke" crowd. All three meals are good, the prices reasonable and the rooms clean and well appointed.
Our trips to town were by cab $5.00 US and this included the tip. The restaurants have definitley raised their prices, perhaps to offset losses from Hurricane Wilma. We always love the sangria and pizza at Guido's, the steaks at Pepe's, the pasta at Prima's and the coconut shrimp at La Mission. We have been fans of El Capi Navigante in the past but this year, the food, and service were mediocre, at best. Shopping is still good; the flea market has been relocated to wooden stalls on the clock tower plaza and unless there are 13 cruise ships in ( as there was on one day we were there) you can shop with little hassle and take time to look.
We love this island and its people. The Coral Princess is neither a huge mega-resort nor a party place but it is a nice, sunny piece of beach and sea where you can relax and reflect.

Ok, I gotta tell you, for my hard earned money, this place was just OK. Stayed here 3rd week in Feb '08 and read many of the glowing reviews before booking...sorry, I don't get it. Booked with Worry-Free (NWA), one room on street side (room 709) for about $750 for the week with air, with breakfast included. Here's my take on this place. It's a place for hard core scuba divers/snorkling and older crowd. I'm 55 and I was one of the younger patrons. There is NO beach. They have a man made area of sand and umbrella's, but the only way to get into the ocean is a ladder from a concreate slab into 25ft deep water. The "pools" are a joke. There are two seperate "pools" , one colder, one warmer, both are about 3 feet deep max. More like oversized wading pools. The "hot tub" was cold and the "jets" are no more powerful than a squirt bottle (why would a hotel offer such wimpy pools and whirlpool?). Rooms are clean, but just OK, "jungle" view is actually on the street side (main highway-traffic noise in room) and "jungle" is just the undeveloped land on the other side of the road. Pedro will hussle you for a time-share showing and offer a free days worth of Jeep rental or some cash...it's all so old RCI stuff. Place is actually kind of boring, not much to do, you can only go to "town" so many times, and after seven days, I'm ready to go. Staff is friendly but SO SLOW...someone needs to light a fire under these guys, drinks are essentially vigin, overpriced: BYOB and spike all drinks. I've stayed in a couple of other areas in this locale (Playa del Carman, and Maya area) and this place just isn't worth it. Warning: I rented a jeep for a day from the inhouse lease guy, and my Jeep had: No spare tire, no rear view mirror, nor a working horn (dog in the road almost found this out the hard way), bald tires and no floor mats-floor gets HOT from engine. I bought all the extra insurance and then was informed that if the Jeep was stolen, I had no coverage for theft!. Finally, the contract you sign on the back of the page was all in Spanish...so unless you are fluent, who knows what you are agreeing to??Check your deductables with VISA or whatever card you use FIRST. If you can, go to the other side to see the unspoiled oceanic world of this island. Wild surf, vast expanses of sand and virtually no people. A couple of small bars along the coast, really neat. Visited one of the maya "ruins" which was the size of a single car garage...luckily it was free. OK, you decide. Reveiws just seems overly glowing for what I saw.

We stayed at the Coral Princess January 31st thru February 7th, 2008.

We were both VERY impressed with the room, we booked thru our travel agent, and were confirmed for a jungle OR ocean view studio. There was no way to upgrade to just the standard ocean view thru our travel agent, so we e-mailed the hotel and were able to confirm a ocean view at no extra charge! (Thanks to Beatriz!)

The room was EXTREMELY clean, and the bed....I have never slept on a more comfortable bed in Mexico in my life! They are actually on box springs and not a cement slab! What a treat that was! Bathroom was good size, with a large shower. Never at a loss for hot water, and the water pressure was great! The room was cleaned well daily, no problems with the maid service. The hairdryer in the bathroom was faulty, but was replaced within 1/2 hour of my call. Also the fridge was good size and kept the cervesa's very cold.

As far as the "beach", it would be very difficult to find a compareable hotel that has an actual beach on the island. I thought the beach areas were just fine. The snorkeling was great; we actually saw a stingray fly out of the water twice-what a sight! The pools were good (1 was actually heated) and Izzy the bartender never missed a beat!

We also received the free continental breakfast daily, which we upgraded to the american for $2USD more. And a $75.00 food/beverage credit which didn't seem to go far as the drink prices were spendy! But Happy Hour twice a day helped! (2 for 1)

My only complaint would be the time share people, we said no thank you many times and they actually ran after us one day! Other than that-I would HIGHLY reccomend this hotel!
