This hotel is very nice. We arrived at the hotel and were given fruit drinks with pineapple and watermelon adornments and lots of ice. You are given cards for towels and you have to get the towels from the pool area and trade them in when needed, but you have to end up with the exact amount of either cards or towels at the end of your stay or pay handsomely for the "lost" towels. The staff is very nice, and most speak English and understand English well. You can convert money in the lobby at the front desk, but you have to watch a worker named Erika, who will try to give you too little money. BRING A CALCULATOR and figure your conversion amount before you go down to exchange money. Don't be afraid to confront them if you receive too little money. The staff can also give you great advice on where to eat, and sometimes give you coupons for free drinks. The cleaning staff is wonderful. A big issue with us at this hotel was the electricity. In a suite (we had three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen and a sitting area - plus three balconies), you only get a "hot plate" to cook on. It's not really a stove. No oven. There are dishes and tableware and a nice refrigerator and a microwave. The microwave was not very powerful. Really we figured out that cooking in the suite wasn't going to work well, although we did have one good meal "at home". Electricity is tricky. You have to insert one of your room cards into this thing to allow electricity to be turned on. The breaker flipped several times when we were cooking with the microwave and had on the a/c. The last day we couldn't get the TV on. BUT, amidst all these negatives is a MAJOR POSITIVE. The restaurant is wonderful, and the REEF OUTSIDE THE HOTEL is just incredible. It was worth it for the snorkeling right there at our door! The little issues were resolved, and all in all it was a fantastic trip. You do have to watch for the salespeople in the lobby who will offer you free drinks, free diving, etc to get you to take a tour of property. Ignore them. We did not get sick from food or water until the last night - we ate at Ernestos and my husband and I got sick. Ugh. But the memories of Coral Princess are good ones.
