We experienced Isla de Pasion while on a Carnival Cruise aboard the Magic on Oct 12 while ported in Cozumel. We got to the island via the Twister boat. TIP 1: Unless you are ready to have half the ocean in every orifice on your face, the Twister boat may not be for you. :)) If you're ready to be drenched in salt water, you'll love the ride! Just know that everything you have on will be drenched when you get to the island. There had been a storm pass through the previous night, and the wind was still high, so the water was very choppy. We were warned at port that because of the high wind, there were a few attractions on the island not available. (It's not like we could get a refund, so I guess it was just a heads-up.) Once on the island, our group guide, Isabell, was great. TIP 2: If you have a group (or even 2 in your party), leave ONE PERSON to follow your group guide and listen for instructions while the others go get good chairs near the beach (the blue, folding chairs) or else you'll be stuck with the white "S" chairs that sit on the ground. TIP 3: Be very cognizant of the view of the ocean and horizon you're getting when you select a place on the beach. During our excursion, because of the wind, they had removed the large, climing floats from the water, and they were sitting on the beach. As we were looking for a good shady spot, we didn't notice our view was mainly of the back side of the large floaties! (Good grief...it's hard to complain when you're in paradise, but thought it was good info to pass along!) TIP 4: On the way back to the port...again....EVERYTHING you have on will get drenched if you're on the Twister, and you will get plenty of salt water all over you to dry and tighten up your skin. :) If you're wanting to spend time on this island, which I highly recommend, you might want to strongly consider your mode of transportation and the pros and cons of each. I hear there are double-decker boats and catamarans as well. I will be influencing the hubby to take another mode next time we visit. :) Beautiful, peaceful island!!
