Just came back from Hotel Cozumel on Sunday Morning Feb 27. The hotel is beautifuly kept, clean rooms and grounds. We were there last year and did not have one complaint but this year I was really disapointed in the food. Twice we stood in the buffet line for 30 minutes only to be told they had ran out of the meat selection for that day. One night we went to the beach area by 7 pm dinner starts at 6:30 it was supposed to be Italian night and they had already run out of spaghetti. We asked if there was more being cooked and they said no that was it. By the end of the week all the food looked the same and tasted that way to. I realize your not here for gourmet meals but the dinners were a disapointment. The bar tender at the beach bar is great his name is Isaiha, he makes the best drinks, no comparison to the ones from the pool bar. The staff is very friendly and always trying to please. I think if we go back I would not bother with all inclusive as there are tons of places to eat near by at a reasonable price. One thing I liked is this hotel is relatively quiet at night no loud partys going on, not a place for younger partiers that stay up all night.

We returned friday Feb. 25 2005 from a l week stay
There were 2 restraunts and for dinner you could order off menu or eat at buffet, we like to sit down and be waited on. It was nice you didnt have to make a reservation. We thought the food was good. Breakfast was good, omlets or just toast and cerial, Lunch better over at the ocean side. They had 3 theme buffet nites. 2 by the beach 1 by the pool I am not a big fan of buffets the food was ok. Pool was nice, beach area a little scarry getting in and out rocky. Snorkeling was good and of course free. They had a ladder or a wooden ramp, ladder worked good for me. People with kids had a kinda hard time with them swimming in ocean but they had another smaller pool by the ocean it was refreshing. We had good service at the bars, Sometimes margaritas good sometimes not so good.beer was good. We got a good price on our trip and planned to go downtown and eat and drink 2 times and we did and we had a good time, You could walk, not a bad walk 15min and i am slow, or $3.00 cab ride. We even walked back at 11.30pm and felt safe. We had a door in our room that could make the rooms adjoining and you could hear everything the neighbors were saying and they got up at 630 every day =. That really is my only crab. Overall worth the money this is my 11th all inclusive trip and we never go the same place twice. Friends we met rented a car we went with them for the afternoon and felt safe.

This hotel was clean and luckily they have very strong plumbing. Six of us went down for an "all inclusive vacation" 4 of the 6 got six of us got sick from the food. The quality of food was consistently the worst I have ever had. Out of the five nights we stayed we went out to dinner 3 times. Cold water did not exist. The bed was rock solid but that would have been okay if the pillow wasn't made out of coconut shells! The best part of our vacation was realizing how lucky we are to live in the states. To top off our last day of vacation, our husbands went to return our towels and were offered Mexican whores by the staff (Note: they declined the offer). Contrary to the staff's only English response "everything is very beautiful" we strongly disagree. IF YOU BOUGHT A CANCELLATION WAIVER USE IT NOW, I REPEAT USE IT NOW!

We just got back from a 5 day stay at Hotel Cozumel. I really, really liked the place, and we had a great vacation. The rooms were clean, and we had a great ground floor room with a balcony overloooking the pool area. The pool is beautiful, although the hot tub frequently did not work. The guy on the mike coordinating activities was a little loud, but not too intrusive. This is primarily a dive hotel, so if you are looking for beachfront with sand y gradual entry, this is not for you. However, we are not divers and had a wonderful time visitng different beaches on the island. I highly recomend snorkeling at Chankanaab. It is a good experience for ocean wimps, doesn't involve a lot of skill, and is relatively inexpensive. The fish and coral reefs are stunning!
We were not all-inclusive, because we wanted to try a variety of different restaurants. The downtown area is a 15 minute walk, and there are dozens of places to eat and shop. There is a Mexican "Walmart"-type store where you can find just about everything you need at reasonable prices. We never did eat at the Hotel, except for lunch at the bar poolside the day we arrived. It was okay, but there were a lot of flies and bees buzzing around the food. We were starving, the chicken burger was tasty, ( fries greasy), and we steered clear of the lettuce/tomatoes.
Renting a car was a little confusing, as we thought the car rental guy was affiliated with the hotel. He was not, he just worked out of their parking lot. When we went to return the car the next day, he was nowhere to be found, and the staff seemed not to know anything about him. We left the Jeep in the lot with a note, and left the key at the front desk, and everything worked out fine. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel, it was clean, comfortable, and lovely. I would certainly consider returning there.

Just returned, first day home. Hot tub and pool cold, meals not very flavorful with under/over done meat, cold food, mistakes on orders. No beach, lots of rocks. Biggest complaint was when they said the bar would be open til 2 am, and every night they were kicking u out closing @11pm. Some of the good was good entertainment/ shows at night. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpfull, very clean rooms/ house keeping. hotel overall was well kept and clean. Been to better, but also a lot worse.
