What a wonderful first time experience!! This was my first trip to Cozumel and his 100th??, we just returned yesterday. The hotel was excellent, the food and service great! I have read past reviews of the food being everything from ok to bad and I have to say I totally disagree! The Fiesta on Friday night was fabulous, the entertainment great. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and well kept. We used Papa Hogs dive shop and they were great! This was my first time in the Ocean and they were attentive, reassuring and complimentery. They took time to point things out. The groups were small, 6 max, the boats fast, not the "cattle boat" experience. Highly recommended!! This was a wonderful vacation for a very good price. All I can say is the people who didn't like the food must very picky. I would highly recomment this hotel. Check it out!!

Just returned home on November 7th, 2004 from Hotel Cozumel. Did our diving with Dive Paradise, which is the best dive operator on the island. Hotel Cozumel is very clean and everyone is friendly and helpful. The only problem we all had with the resort is that the lunches and dinners are terrible!!!!!!! Breakfast was good but not great. Do yourself a favor and eat lunch and dinner in town. Primas is the best.

I have just returned from a six night stay at hotel cozumel. This is a nice hotel. Very clean and well maintained. If you walk down the hall and do not see someone moping your not in HOTEL COZUMEL. The on site dive shop ( dive paridise ) is a class act. All in all this place packs a good punch for the buck. I will be back.

Hotel Cozumel is not the ulitimate in resorts, but it is a very nice place to enjoy Cozumel. Hotel Cozumel is very clean with a good location to the hot spots of Cozumel. It's just a $3 cab fare to downtown and the ocean is a short walk through a tunnel and back up to a beautiful view. The breakfast is very good, with lunch and dinner being adequate. There are always activities during the day around the pool and the staff are fun and helpful.

Definitely get a poolside room. The road noise on the oceanside is too loud. The rooms are cold, clean, but a little small...but you're only sleeping there. The televisions do have some American channels in English.

Take advantage of the free snorkeling equipment on the beach. There is also a kayak to use for free.

Martin runs the activities around the pool and karaoke. He's a good guy and lots of fun. Fernando in the dining room is the best waiter. Juan by the beach is funny and mixes a good drink.

Don't get talked into any timeshare scams by the downtown booths. If you want a good authentic Mexican restaurant downtown, go to Casa Denis. Good food and good prices.

I can guarantee your gonna love this place. I just got back from a week's vacation at hotel cozumel and resort and me and my girlfriend had the best time. We book our vacation through funjet, and i recommended going that way. They provide everything for you!!! Here's all about my trip and what we did.

-When we got off the plan Funjet buses were there waiting for us to take us to our hotel. They were clean and nice buses. I felt that the bus drivers were not as crazy as some others thought. I live in chicago so i know how people drive. We got to the hotel and had no trouble checking in, only took about 5 minutes and we set. We met a funjet representative and his name was Pepe, as you probably read in past reviews. We'll during our trip he was excellent. Signed us up for a snorkeling tour and parasailing. Maybe a few extra bucks than going outside our resort, however we didn't have to do any work. We just told him what we wanted and he booked everything for us. During our seven days, we went parasailing, snorkeling, rented a scooter 2 of the days to go to the beach on the east side of the island and to the mayan ruins.
- About the hotel, it was very nice, everything was clean, and everyone was curtious. The room looked wonderful. The only thing that could of been better was the bed, not very hard, but not the best, but by the time you take in the hotel/ hotel room, and everything else in cozumel, trust me the bed won't matter.

Weather- When we went the weather in cozumel was daily. It would be beautiful in the morning, raing from about 12-2 and then be mostly sunny from 2-7, and then the mosquitos come out from 7-11. That was the same every day, and my vacation was from July 24th - July 29th.

Food - The food in the hotel was descent. Dont' expect a 5-star hotel food, but the food was edible. Like everyone says the best meal of the day was breakfast. Make sure you get dinner reservations for the restaurant on the beach. That was the best meal, plus we had our reservations for 7:30 and it was the perfect time because the sun was setting. It was perfect.

Beach - To get to the beach, you have to go under a tunnel that goes under a road. That make the tunnel look really nice beach it is owned by the hotel. The beach is not actually connected the the water because there are rocks all along the west side of the island. But if you like to snorkeling, it is awesome. To get to the sandy beaches you have to rent a scooter/car/taxi, to get to the southwest part of the island or go to the east side of the island, because those are where the sandy beaches are. Make sure you snorkel and kayak on the hotel premises because it is tons of fun.

Clubs- 2 clubs we went to: Carlos and Charlies, and Senor Frogs. I recommend Senor Frogs, and go after 11:00. We and my girlfriend won free beers because we won a tequilla drinking contest, and then they form a train line and give you tons of shots of free tequilla. Go to the clubs, you'll have fun.

Town, In the towns, people will continually bug you to buy stuff, they most common persuasive phrase is, "almost free". Yes alot of their stuff is cheap but after your in the store its hard to get out. They'll keep trying to get you too buy stuff. Look for the guy that paints with spray paint, that was pretty cool. He was in the square of the main town.

Tours, Went on snorkeling tour and parasailing tour if any questions about those, please e-mail me.

Hotel pool and bar, the pool is beautiful, and gigantic. It is open all night, with a few lights on which make it really romantic.

Tips, in most vacations packages it says that the tips are included. We'll you will get treated alot better if you just leave a little tip. We left 1 dollar every day for the maid, and about 2 dollars a day for our drinks at the hotel. We also tipped the bus driver 5 and pepe 5, they will truly help you with anything if you give a little. We got "extra" stuff from the maid just with the tip, ex. extra waters. You cant drink the water from the sink so keep the bottles and fill up with water from the bar by the pool. It's free.

All in all, this was the best trip. Cozumel is more for families and cancun is more for young adults, but i am 20 and so was my girlfriend and she is 20, just find the clubs and the fun things to do and you will have a great time. Oh yeah, the pictures that are presented online are exactly what they look like at the hotel. I read past reviews about how they thought the pictures were way off and the hotel was not great. Well if you want proof i'll put the pictures that i took and show you great this place really was. E-mail me with any questions. Have a great trip!!!!
