When we first arrived I felt a little unsure because the beach was across the street but it didn't bother me at all. I spent the whole seven days swimming the ocean and didn't go into the pool at all. But the pool was well mantained. (When entering the ocean there are four ways to get in. One is the wading in on the left. I dont recomend it, becasue there are sea urchains between the rocks. It is easier to get in by the ladder [like you would find at the deep end of a pool]. There is a small ledge to jump from or you can jump from the divers pier. Just be careful and know where the corals are. (When swimming you can take a breakfast roll and feed the fish as they swim all around you! FUN!)
This resort is perfect for divers and I would recomend it to any one who wanted to dive.
The food is OK and I thought is was good. But it is reallt romantic to go into town and eat at one of the resturnats.
The biggest recomendation I can make about this trip is going into Play del Carmen. Get down to Down Town and take the ferry to Play Del Carmen. There is GREAT SHOPPING. And the best tour I encoutered is the Xcaret.
If you want to take a snorkel tour the corporate ones rip you off. The hotel has a local tour guy and he can find you a nice private tour and those are WAY better. I had a great trip and I hope you like as well.
MANUIEL THE BAR TENDER IS A GREAT GUY!
