I wasnt sure what to expect from this hotel, as it had some shady reviews and I had never been on vacation before. This place exceeded my expectations!
The staff were all really friendly and very helpful. The first night we were there I left my purse in the restaraunt, and one of the waiters ran out into the lobby to find me. The entertainment staff are fantastic, very friendly and quite funny. Entertainment there is not super fantastic, but it is quite funny and I found myself out by the pool every night to see it.
They do love their bingo, though it only lasts for 1/2 hour so Im not sure what people are complaining about. We had a poolside room, which could get noisy with the music and speakers but it wasnt that bad if you close the balcony door.
Food was ok, not 5 star, but edible and they had a variety of stuff at every dinner. Breakfast was great, and lunch was super, the chicken fajitas are so good :)
Rooms are clean and tidy and safe! We locked up valubles in our safe but were not afraid to leave clothing, watches etc on the dresser.
The pool was clean, if you get up early enough you can see them cleaning the pool every morning. It was nice and big.
The beach leaves something to be desired, it is man made and small, so if you are looking for a great beach this isnt the place. It is much more of a diver/snorkelling beach. I didnt get the chance to go in front of the hotel unfortunantly because the weather turned cold our last few days there, but I spoke with several divers who said it is a great place to go and they even saw squid!
My only real complaint about the hotel was the pigeons. They liked to land on our balcony and wake us up early, thankfully we scared them good enough and they stopped coming back. But they are all around the resort which is a little annoying but easy to ignore.
All in all I would highly recommend this place, both for the price and quality it was a great deal. Im hoping to go back in the future.

  • Liked — The staff were all friendly and amazing!
  • Disliked — The pigeons.

We 3 women stayed at the Hotel Cozumel from March 10 - March 17 and had a fantastic stay! We had no problems at check in or check out. The food was nothing to write home about but it was definately plentiful, breakfast by far being the best meal of the day with made to order omelettes, fresh fruit and fresh juice. The pool area and it's workers, Fransisco, Carlos, Luis and Julio, were great! The area the hotel is in is also good. Close enough to downtown to walk yet far enough away to be out of the cruise ship traffic. We always felt very safe as well no matter the time of day or night. The beach club is nice too. It's a man made beach but very nice. We have no complaints other than we ate and drank too much!

  • Liked — the pool, the location, the staff
  • Disliked — dinner

Just returned home on March 14th. Couldn't wait to sleep in a clean bed! This hotel is totally rundown - maybe it was beautiful at one time, but no longer. The management doesn't seem to care either whether you like it or not - they seem to be busy regardless of the bad reviews. Worst part is the food - I was sick during the night twice from eating there. Food wasn't distinguishable and I think they used the same food over and over each day, i.e. mixed leftover rice with leftover beans. Even though we were all-inclusive we ate out almost every night. They don't have enough pool chairs for their guests - only one day out of seven we were able to get a pool chair. Guests get up at 6:00 AM to mark their chairs with towels, magazines, etc. The beach is hilarious - a little sand, 5 palm trees and cement wall. Only happy person at the resort is Francisco (sp) who seemed to do everything from Bingo to Dancing. All of the lights, including the lobby go out at 11:30. Thank goodness taxis were cheap - we had to constantly get outta there! Believe these bad reviews!!!

Take our word for it, you do not want to stay here. We booked our trip in January. When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that the hotel was over booked. At first I was calm figuring they would put us up in a nice place for a day until people checked out the next day. OH NO! We were told they'd put us up at Hotel Fontan and it would be for the duration of our trip. When we found out the other hotel was 25 minutes north we told the manager we didn't want to stay there. After arguing with the hotel manager we decided to call around and stay some place else.

We got a room at Cozumel Palace Hotel. It was great but we paid a lot more money! I am still fighting with Cozumel hotel as we are refusing to pay for a nonexistant stay!

Don't take the chance, stay somewhere with a good reputation!

First let me say this is NOT the place to take 18 year old seniors too. There is Nothing for them to do.

Food, I would not let my own dog eat it

Cleanliness-corners in the bathroom full of hair and dirt, just terrible

Hottubs-not hot at all. And they do not run the hottub around there suppose to be beach, which it is not a beach.

Of the four rooms that were suppose to be double beds, one was correct. The rest of the group had to make due with king size beds.

My husband and I have traveled many places, this is by far the worst I have been to. Do yourself a favor, find a place that is truely a all-inclusive.
