I have to admit that I was getting a little worried about staying at the Brisas in Cozumel. Just got back and would definitely stay there again. The rooms and maid service were great, no smells and they even spray for bugs on a regular basis (tho, I never saw any in the room or had any problem with bugs on the back deck facing the spectular pool). The pool is surrounded in several places by a 3" or so drop for just sitting in, etc. Several suntanned while lying in the water. Each day brought new surprises and entertainment from the staff. The Beach Party on Friday night was a blast! However, if you go, you might want to take extra shorts and underwear for one of the games. It is very legitament, families were there, no need to worry. Bay Adventures scheduled all the details for us and Felix did a wonderful job. We dove with Dive Adventure and they also did a great job. Especially Nacho and Luis, thanks guys! The food at Brisas was fabulous every day and the manager went out of his way each day to speak to us and ask for suggestions or comments. The very nice lady that cleaned our room every day brought us flowers the day after we gave her a $5.00 tip. I only wish I had given her more, she was a great person. The bar by the pool was the best for every afternoon after diving and made great Rum Runners. The only negative I would make about Brisas would be that breakfast was very busy and they should have two egg lines ready at 7AM as all divers are lined up to go in by 6:45 as boat left about 8AM, most of the time. They did put in another egg area before we left, but they still needed to be ready to go at 7. We had the fast boats most of the time which meant we arrived at most all divesites before the "slow boats" - groups of ten or more. One day our fast boat had only 4 divers besides my husband and I and one day we were the only two but most days we had about 6 divers. Night dive was not too good because there were too many divers on the same site, probably three boats. Not much night life was seen by anyone. On the fast boats, be sure to watch how tanks are tied in as I had one fall on my foot, but I was able to keep on diving, so all was well. Good luck with your own adventure as ours - our 25th Wedding anniversary was the best! Thank you to Primas downtown for the best dinner ever - if you ever see Seafood Lasagne on the menu there, order it. You will not be disappointed. The new Carlos 'N Charlies location was just as much fun as the old one, had a great time with complete strangers that loved to party. Until our next trip in Cozumel, good luck to all!Jeanie Johnstone Wichita, KS
