My husband and I just got back from Cozumel. We stayed at Brisas for 7 nights and had a GREAT time. The hotel is very nice and the food was great too. We witnesses one old lady complaining about something - but that lady was just rude and mean and complained about everything - it was fun to watch her though. There was nothing wrong with what she complained about... You always will find those types of people who like to complain for no reason.

About the hotel: The location is PERFECT! It is a nice short walk to downtown and it is a 5 minute walk to the nearest grocery store where all the locals shop (it is on the way to downtown) and there you will find a bottle of vanilla for 60 cents when they charge you $6 for it in the market or downtown!! Just a hint!

The diving spot is great too. We did snorkeled but definitely will get dive certified and come back next year and stay at Brisas again! The snorkeling there is great as well. We did all inclusive program and the drinks and food were great. We ate on the beach, drank, and had a great time. The rooms were clean and AC and draining everything worked just fine. We are not people who stay in the room when we go on vacation - we spent the time outside... We rented a scooter at hotel (bargain with the guy and he will give you a better rate - he dropped 15 dollars on our rent of scooter for 2 full days). We drove around the island, went to see the ruins (there are several of them but the only ones off the road that goes through downtown are the best), we took a ferry to go to Playa de Carmen and went to Tulum ruins, Senor Frogs was a lot of fun on the weekend! During the week it was kind of empty. At the hotel we met a lot of nice people. We snorkeled at night, got to touch an octopus, saw huge lobsters, star fish and of course we saw tons of gorgeous underwater world at all the beaches we snorkeled at.

I will definetely stay at Brisas again. The staff was very friendly, the live band was great! We had a blast!

We recommend it 100%!

I have to admit that I was getting a little worried about staying at the Brisas in Cozumel. Just got back and would definitely stay there again. The rooms and maid service were great, no smells and they even spray for bugs on a regular basis (tho, I never saw any in the room or had any problem with bugs on the back deck facing the spectular pool). The pool is surrounded in several places by a 3" or so drop for just sitting in, etc. Several suntanned while lying in the water. Each day brought new surprises and entertainment from the staff. The Beach Party on Friday night was a blast! However, if you go, you might want to take extra shorts and underwear for one of the games. It is very legitament, families were there, no need to worry. Bay Adventures scheduled all the details for us and Felix did a wonderful job. We dove with Dive Adventure and they also did a great job. Especially Nacho and Luis, thanks guys! The food at Brisas was fabulous every day and the manager went out of his way each day to speak to us and ask for suggestions or comments. The very nice lady that cleaned our room every day brought us flowers the day after we gave her a $5.00 tip. I only wish I had given her more, she was a great person. The bar by the pool was the best for every afternoon after diving and made great Rum Runners. The only negative I would make about Brisas would be that breakfast was very busy and they should have two egg lines ready at 7AM as all divers are lined up to go in by 6:45 as boat left about 8AM, most of the time. They did put in another egg area before we left, but they still needed to be ready to go at 7. We had the fast boats most of the time which meant we arrived at most all divesites before the "slow boats" - groups of ten or more. One day our fast boat had only 4 divers besides my husband and I and one day we were the only two but most days we had about 6 divers. Night dive was not too good because there were too many divers on the same site, probably three boats. Not much night life was seen by anyone. On the fast boats, be sure to watch how tanks are tied in as I had one fall on my foot, but I was able to keep on diving, so all was well. Good luck with your own adventure as ours - our 25th Wedding anniversary was the best! Thank you to Primas downtown for the best dinner ever - if you ever see Seafood Lasagne on the menu there, order it. You will not be disappointed. The new Carlos 'N Charlies location was just as much fun as the old one, had a great time with complete strangers that loved to party. Until our next trip in Cozumel, good luck to all!Jeanie Johnstone Wichita, KS

Going to Cozumel for my spring break was the best!! The workers were great, especially the entertainment manager, LUIS!! I miss all of them so much, it was weird how me and my three friends that went got SO attached to everyone! The entertainment was great and the nightlife was a blast! My wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Brisas. Cozumel and the hotel are both outstanding. Like other reveiwer have noted, the beds are hard. Since it was just the two of us, we stacked the unused mattress on our bed which made everything better. The rooms were nice and the maid staff was constantly cleaning the hallways and proviced fresh linens when they cleaned our room. We didn't have any problems with the sewer drains in the bathroom, however the hotel wasn't very full. I have read that the end of May is the off season, and it showed. The weather was very hot and muggy and it rained for a couple of hours 3 out of the 4 days we were on the island, which provided plenty of time for a siesta. The food was good and plentiful and the drinks were delicious. I read somewhere that a person had a problem with signing receipts for everything, that was not the case. On an AI vacation, we were given armbands we showed to eat and drink. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very sleepy, and only seemed about a third full for our first two nights. It was easy to find an area to be alone. The snorkling right off of the beach was excellent and we went several times a day. Next time back, we will learn to scuba. We cant wait. When we go back to Cozumel, and we WILL go back, we will not hestitate to return to the BRISAS.

We had heard bad things about the Las Brisas Hotel from aquiantances. They advised me of several bad things about the hotel. I have done quite a bit of traveling myself and took this as a good opportunity to judge this property from my own experiences. The staff was friendly and helpful to an extent. Very nice hotel. The grounds are kept clean and mauicured. Awsome pool area. The rooms are nice, clean. The beds were a little hard. The food is good but, not enough. Don't expect a large buffett for any meal on the all inclusive plan. Breakfast is good and fresh. Especially liked the smoothie bar. Never ate lunch cause we were never there during that time. The bar was great. Dinner is always different but, not enough. Large screen TV was great to watch NBA playoffs. Great location and close to town, but recommend taking a taxi rather than walking. All in all would definately stay there again and we are looking forward to our next trip.
