My boyfriend and I stayed at The El Cozumeleno from June 1st till June 5th. We were very pleased with the service. We had a hard time deciding where to stay because we didn't want to hear a bunch of loud kids on our vacation so we were hesitant to stay at the Cozumeleno because it wasn't an adult only hotel. However, it was very quiet and peaceful.. The beaches were beautiful and I think other people that have said the beach is rocky are cry babies. The beaches were fine. If your snorkeiling you have the fins on and you don't need water shoes. We bought some and never used them. The hotel was great!! Request an ocean view because the garden view is just looking at the street. Breakfast was great but the other meals and the fact that there was only one kind of beer was disappointing. We ate Lobster at a really quiet and romantic place down the street called Lobster House. This place was worth the money and downtown Senor Frogs was really cool and great drinks. You can get downtown from Cozumeleno in just five minutes by cab and do some shopping, but those people will drive you crazy, trying to sell you something. Speaking of driving you crazy my only complaint about the hotel was the people in the Lobby driving you crazy to buy a tour from them. I just got off a long flight from DFW to Cozumel and I'm just ready to get in my room and relax. Antonio in the dive shop is cool because he does speak English very fluently and can give you the low down on everything, without pressuring you to buy one of his tours. We are from a small town one hour outside of Dallas,TX and it was really neat staying in Cozumel because it seemed like everyone we met was from Texas or surrounding cities. We even discussed making cozumel a every 2 or 3 yr reunion with all the cool couples we met. Overall we had a great relaxing time for an affordable price at the last minute. I want to thank trip advisor for helping us make our decision easier and we will continue to use this site for future trips.
