Our trip was only four days, but we enjoyed every minute. The food was very good, and we especially enjoyed our vists to the Mirimar restaurant where the food and service were excellent! The staff was always friendly and very helpful. We loved the beach, even though it was manmade and up above the water by about 6 feet. It was a nice family atmosphere without a bunch of college kids.

We will go back again and again. Thank you Apple vacations and thank you Fiesta Americana for such a wonderful trip. For us, everything was perfect!

Before we left, we read all kind of stories about Fiesta being so bad, we didn't find this to be true.
The staff was very friendly, the food was better than average. The one thing we did't learn until the fifth day is that during lunch, you can order off the menu and the food is much better than the buffets that you have been eating each day, the breakfast was great, the cafe upsatairs was very good, and the service was great.
The snorkling was great,but you need to go left of their pier for the best.
The one bad thing is the people in town trying to sell a time share in Park Royal, a guy named Eric told us a boldface lie, and the staff at the Fiesta helped me get my money back and the tour that I had comming to me, stay away from Park Royal, very high pressure and l feel that they lied to us, by misleading what they were showing us.
We also took the Pirate cruise and had a great time.
I forgot to say the room was very clean, and the staff was there at least 2 times a day making sure everything was ok.

My traveling companion and I chose the Fiesta Americana based on a friend's recommendation and weren't at all disappointed. Check-in took a little longer than usual because we'd booked our hotel online and they had no record of it having been paid for. However, when we requested to be moved to a non-smoking room, they graciously upgraded us to an ocean-view room on the 6th floor. A word on the rooms: The tropical casitas are set back in the jungle gardens and look charming enough, but chances are you're in Cozumel to enjoy the ocean and the only way to see it is from the main building. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the beds (Mexico seems notorious for hard mattresses) were comfotable nonetheless.

Every single person working at the hotel was friendly, knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy our attempts at Spanish conversation, though most spoke English well. The hotel has a very laid-back atmosphere, a beautifully simple open-air lobby and several areas to enjoy. We opted to forego the all-inclusive plan but didn't really feel like we were missing out. One thing to keep in mind is that Mexico isn't renowned for its cuisine or, it turns out, for its serving practices. The water, while a little slick feeling, was totally drinkable but the buffets were laid out in the open air. With the oppressive Mexican heat and proliferance of insects, you really want to be the first in line or the food quickly begins to lose its appeal. Breakfast at The Reef was fine but the fajita buffet at the Tropical was disappointing in its lack of tortillas and cheese which, for my vegetarian traveling companion, meant a fairly pricey dinner of peppers and onions. Dinner at the Miramar included top-notch service, a charming tableside singing troup and a wonderfully flavorful (if fairly overcooked) dinner.

We used the hotel's dive service, Dive House, to explore the reefs and can't recommend them highly enough. They were thorough in examing certifications and the deck hands spoiled us by insisting on doing all the heavy work and handing out water every ten minutes. Our divemaster was a real pro and the experience was terrific. And judging by some of the tiny and much older dive boats we encountered on the water, Dive House is one of the higher-end operations, with comfortable boats and knowledgeable divers.

If you're not into Scuba diving, you can use your own snorkeling gear or pick up a set for free and explore the absolutely gorgeous coral and marine life right offshore. Rays, eels, barracudas, angel, trigger and parrotfish and a hundred other species literally four feet from the shore. The current along the coast is strong, though, so plan accordingly. We spent one morning drifting past the dive pier to a spectacular shallow area but paid for it with a thirty minute full-kick swim back to the hotel; of course, you can also get out and walk if you like.

The only disappointing thing about Fiesta Americana was that their pool, beautiful, clean and complete with a swim-up bar, closed each night at 7 PM. With music from the bar (including a terrific local duo who sang live each night) drifting up late into the evening, we couldn't figure out why pool hours would be so curtailed. And if games and music waterside isn't your cup of tea, there's a smaller and very quiet pool a little closer to the shore near the thatched palapas and chaise lounges.

Fiesta Americana is a great hotel the relfects the quiet, charming character of Cozumel. The service was impeccable, the location was unparalleled and the accommodations were clean and pleasant. We can't wait to get back there.

It's almost time for my friend and I to go back to Cozumel. We were at the Fiesta Americana a year ago and decided it was worth going back. We booked through Apple Vacations (our favorite).

Our last experience with the FA was wonderful. Everyone was courteous, friendly and couldn't do enough to be helpful. If we had a question, Inez, our tour contact, was there and answered everything.

Our room was very nice. The only negative we had was that there wasn't enough room for our knees to fit while sitting on the potty. We've had more than a few laughs over having to sit sideways.
The food was yummy. We did our share of sampling the tropical drinks. Sometimes it took a little bit of time to get them, but we did and they were delicious.

Being a diver, I liked having my dive boat pick us up. The dock is great and the restaurant for breakfast and lunch is right there so we could see the boat coming in, then stop and have lunch when we got back while our equipment was soaking in the fresh water tub. The afternoons of snorkling or kayaking were terrific. There is plenty of marine life and it's safe due to not much boat traffic as they have at the hotels close to town.

We looked forward to the elegant dinners in the restaurant at night. We especially enjoyed their 4 piece combo playing music while we dined. If you are expecting 5 stars at the Four Seasons, then suggest you book elsewhere.

This is a really relaxing place to go, off the beaten path and bustle of town. Can't wait until the end of June to go. Happy vacationing to you all.
