We, my husband and I and two friends, recently stayed at the Fiestamericana for 10 days. We chose the all inclusive plan because it was only $30.00 more per day for the 2 of us. The breakfast buffet cost $31.00 for the 2 of us so we were ahead of the game early in the day. The buffets had plenty of variety, some good, some not so good. Food was ample and adequate. Liquor was not name brand but after the first drink, who cares? The hotel is nice, but showing wear and tear. The rooms were large: king sized bed, entertainment center, sofa, table and 2 chairs. The bathroom not so large but adequate. The maid kept the room spotless. The staff was friendly. Pool by the hotel was large and noisy, kids, music, bingo games, etc. The small pool by the ocean was quiet. There were plenty of beach chairs and palapas to enjoy. The beach was miniscule, but usable. Snorkeling was okay, did see many tiny fish, 24 inch baracuda, and a very small octopus.
The Money Bar just to the north is beautiful and has great food and drinks. Good place to snorkel.
We ate dinner in town many nights since we were saving money on breakfast, lunch and drinks. Prima is excellent for Italian food; Pepe's Grill is fabulous and air conditioned, had a wonderful filet there; Casa Mission had good food very reasonably priced but service was HORRIBLE, especially considering there were only 6 customers in the whole place, and we were 4 of them; Margaritaville was festive and fun with good food and drinks; and just next door is the best place: Prima Grill on top of the Wynston Bldg. It is new, on the 9th floor; the view is spectacular, the service was terrific, and yes, it is air conditioned. It is owned by the man that owns the other Prima. He told us he intends to eventually close the older one and concentrate on the new one.
We all suffered in varying degrees from Montezuma's Revenge. The hotel gave us lots of bottled water so we're not sure what caused it. I was sick for 5 days but my husband only was ill for two. Take Pepto and Immodium AD with you, drink only bottled water - including when brushing your teeth and hope for the best.

We are a couple in our 40's and we stayed at the Fiesta for 5 nights June 11th - 16th and found it to be better than expected based on the reasonable price we paid - $80.00/ night.

Location: The hotel is in a quiet area of Cozumel, out of town and off the beaten path. In my opinion, this is the best thing going for the hotel. It is out of the way but only a $6.00 cab ride to town. The snorkeling from the shore is very, very good. I suggest walking North (toward the Money Bar) on the road that runs in front of the hotel. Continue past the Money Bar and then find an easy place to put in with your snorkle gear. You can snorkel all the way back to the Fiesta Americana. Depending on the current, it should take about 1 hour. We saw rays, eels, parrot fish, angel fish, you name it - we saw it.

Rooms: Stayed on the 6th floor, corner room. Had an excellent view of the water and a great balcony. Room had ample storage space for clothing and dive gear. There was a small table with chairs for in-room dining and a minibar that included a coffee maker. If you don't go all-inclusive and want to make your own coffee, bring the small, basket style filters from home. We tried to purchase some at the local grocery store (Chedraui) and they were $7.00 per pack! Bathrooms were big, clean and toiletries were stocked fresh every day. Turndown service every night about 6:00 and included extra towels, mints and soft music playing. Nice touch not usually found at such an inexpensive hotel. The beds were hard (as are ALL beds in Mexico) but the pillows were fluffy and the linens not too heavy. A/C was OK.. could have been better. I do want to emphasize that the room was exceptionally clean and quite nice. We left $2.00 per day under our pillow each day as a tip for the maid.

Pools: The pool setup was really good. The primary activities pool is located right next to the hotel. This is where the families seemed to gather and the "entertainment" staff hung out and promoted games and activities. There is a nice swimup bar at this pool. Some music, but not too loud. The second "quiet" pool is across the street and on the "beach". It also has a bar (not swim up) and beach services. This pool is smaller but we liked it better due to the proximity to the beach and the overall low key atmosphere.

Service: We had very good service. BUT, we were not on the all-inclusive and we are generous tippers.

Food: We ate at the hotel 2X for breakfast (never the buffet) and found the food to be very good and very reasonable. We usually spent between $15.00 and $20.00 for breakfast.

Tips:
- Take your own snorkeling gear and snorkel the area North of the Money Bar. This area is know as Dzul-Ha and is the same area where companies take people on "snorkle tours" for $50.00 a pop. It's free to you.
- If you don't get the all-inclusive plan, pack (I take as my carry on filled with camera, books, etc.) a small collapsable cooler. Go to town and buy your beer at Chedraui then ice it down back at the hotel. We took our cooler to the hotel beach and drank from it. Nobody said a word.
- Eat breakfast at the money bar for $4.99 between 7 and 9. Ask for the "Diver's Special" - it isn't on the menu.
- Rent a car and drive to the other side of the island. Stop and Playa Bonita. Amazing place... you will thank me when you see it. Drink a cold one for all the suckers back at work while you are enjoying paradise!
- If you are looking for a great all inclusive in Cozumel, I would suggest the El Cozumeleno. More expensive than the Fiesta, but worth the few extra dollars.

Had our first stay a the Fiesta Americana and we can't wait to get back. We would agree that if your looking to party hardy this isn't the place but if you want good room value and a quieter place this is it. We had no problem with any of the staff and found them very helpful.

We had a package that included 25% discounts on food and beverage and this worked for us better than AI. We ate breakfast and dinner there since we stayed on the beach most days. The food was fine. Would recommend the cuban sandwich-quite good.

The dive shop was fine and close. We would recommend renting a dive watch This would have allowed us to stay down longer but it was not explained very well.

We also went into town ($6.00 each way) and found some great food values in the town square off the main road. La Cocay is a place we found that has wonderful food and the owners were execllent. We paid attention to the ships and mostly missed the cruisers. Recommend walking through the square off the main road as the further you get away the cheaper everything seems to become.

We went all-inclusive, the food was so bad we went to town to eat at $200.00 per meal. The flies on the food was terrible and the steak tastes like ALPO. Then we all got the Montezuma Revenge and are all still sick and on antibiotics after 10 days. My suggestion, spend a little more money and go to a real beach and vacation spot somewhere other than Mexico.

We got a great deal for the Fiesta American for $82 USD per night (not part of the all inclusive). The hotel itself was nice, the pool areas were great and the beach area was relaxing. The snorkling was great around the pier. The staff was okay- not great but not rude either.

We did not eat here because of other reviews and instead went to Money Bar- a cute little restaurant that is about a 5 minute walk north of the hotel for lunches and then into town for dinners ($6 USD taxu fare- be sure to confirm this amount before you step into a taxi as some will try to charge more). We definitely recommend going to Money Bar- there is a wide variety of food and everything we had was tasty. There are also some good places in town like Cafe Denis (mind blowing Chile Rellano) and La Choza (great steak fajitas).

The rooms are clean but a bit older- but again, a great value for $82 USD! Nice little patio and lovely views. Comfortable beds and decent size. This is not a luxury resort like Cozumel Palace but we felt that it was a really good value for the price.

Great for families and people looking for relaxation. Also good location for diving as lots of the dive sites are in that area or south. Probably not the best hotel for people looking to party hard as it is outside of town and is pretty quiet overall.
