I have full blown OCD when it comes to a new vacation spot. You would think I was doing research on something that was far more serious, but I’m just web-surfing and reading to see what place yells out "come to me!” So I stumble onto Cozumel Palace, on Orbitz, and the rest is history.

I have worked in the service industry for over 15 years and have traveled quite a bit, and this is THE BEST trip I've ever taken. Our flight was a nightmare thank you American Airlines, but thank god the lobby we finally got to was the Palace or I would have busted an artery in my noodle. When you get dropped off, if there is still daylight out, please take a minute to look past the hotel glass doors and view the ocean that your going to be looking at all week. Forget the bags that the gentleman is trying to wrestle out of the taxi, and soak that moment in. Let it marinade and realize that you aren’t at the office for the next week. Then get your bags, tip the poor guy, and then let the door guy handle EVERYTHING. Once you enter the lobby is not too noisy, it's crisp and cool, and they hand you a cocktail. It's just simple sparkling wine with a cherry on the bottom. It's neither vueve nor dom, but take it anyway and enjoy. Yes, all rooms have an ocean view. Your right on top of the ocean once you maneuver past your hammock. Please take advantage of this hammock. If you feel it's there's not enough room get your butt up and adjust the ropes on the wall. If you like booze please take advantage of your mini bar and drink fridge. You have 4 upside down bottles of booze in sliding cabinets that are full ,and not brands you've never heard of. Push the nozzle up toward the bottle to operate. That took me a while to figure out.

The beds were absolutely amazing. It was the best sleep I think I've ever gotten in my life. I researched after we left and got the exact bedding they had at the hotel, and I’m a lot more chipper now a days.
The shower was awesome. Oh yea you have an extremely classy HOT TUB sunk into marble flooring! I've had hot tubs in rooms before that I wouldn’t wash my shoes in, but this made up for them. Its great get in it!

Rokki and Abel are the "entertainment" of the hotel. I'm more of an observer, but they were great. He's funny and quick with a joke. Get involved with the pool games; they break up the pool day nicely. The pool has decent food, but the nachos you can't go wrong with. Grab some freshly fried tortilla and pico and your set. Drink not strong enough? Ask the dude for a shot and he'll give it to you with a smile. Are you leery that there is no beach? So was I. [--] the beach! Trust me. You have stairs that lead you into crystal clear waters. Go snorkeling, and take some nachos with you in your pocket if you want to see the cool fish in there. Don't worry, no sharks, there are nets to keep them out.

The food was far better then I expected. I'm harsh on food and cooking. You have to think of where you are, and what a hotel like this is able to pay a chef. There are not top name chefs on staff sorry to say, but the food they put out is very good, and the flavors are there. We ate at the Japanese place 2 nights and the Italian place one night, the outside 2 nights, and the Mexican place one night. The Italian was the least of my favorite. You can afford to bypass it. Stir fry dishes in the Japanese place were great, and the flavors were excelent, and the sushi to my surprise wasn't that bad. The Mexican restaurant makes a skirt steak that is so well marinated I wanted to go and hug the chef. It's awesome! The outside is great. The cuts may not be from the meat district in NY but they have a way of flavoring meats that make them amazing. Get some grill, some veggies, some salad, and order a cocktail and breathe in the night.

The town is fun, but during the week it's dead as a doornail, which wasn't that bad if you’re not looking to hook up or your there with your significant other. It's your world. Do as you may. Jimmy Buffet looked like a tourist trap when you walk by, which in many respects it is, but walk through the giant shirt and coffee mug entrance and there is a great little bar setting back there. I was shocked. It has cool chairs (on giant ropes), good music, obnoxiously big drinks, and a great setting. Be warned that everyone and their mother is trying to sell you something, when your walking with your lady, or man, but take this time to talk to your Hubble. Look occupied and you get hassled less.

If you do anything while you’re in Cozumel, go to El Capi Navigate. It's a restaurant in town on a side street. At first glance it looks like something out of a National Lampoons movie, but sit your [--] down and take a load off. The food is fresh, and the service is truly wonderful and warm. Get some frozen drinks they are huge and strong. Best frozen drinks I can ever remember having. I got up and tipped the bartender who made them. One word...Lobster Thermador. Order it, look at it, and eat. Welcome to heaven.

Cozumel palace was a truly great hotel with excellent service. Just ask, as long as it's not for a chimp juggling in your room, and they will make it happen. If you never dived take the lesson. They put you in a deep pool to the right of the back of the hotel that is very deep, and then take you out THAT DAY to dive. You would be doing a disservice to yourself if you didn't take advantage of a cheap opportunity to dive one of the best spots in the world. For the 1500$ I paid, it was so far above what I was expected that I already booked my trip for next year. See you all at the end of May 08!

*DISCLAIMER*
If you are a stuck up snob that has never had to work for anything in your life and have lived off of mommy and daddy's money then this hotel is not for you. I don't think there is a Ritz in Cozumel, so please look elsewhere. If you have no respect for people who work extremely hard for very little of a paycheck to kiss your [--], then please stay away. I don't need to hear you’re whining while I'm trying to enjoy myself since I'm coming back whenever I can.

We stayed at the CP last week for three nights (after staying at a non-inclusive in downtown San Miguel the first three nights). Once we got to the CP we were immediately impressed with the service and hotel and we were looking forward to getting settled.

Our room was lovely and fully stocked upon our arrival. The mini bar was nice, even though it was barely used. A bottle of wine was waiting for us as well. It was nice to get there, relax and enjoy the view from our room. One side note on our room was it was unfortunately located right by the elevators and we were repeatedly woken in the middle of the night to screaming loud drunks headed to bed.

Our main fear with the all inclusive hotel was that we had all of our meals included in the price, so we were eating at the hotel whether we liked it - or not. The first night we went to the "Italian" restuarant. When I ordered the risotto and was given a bowl of mexican rice covered in pesto, I was more than confused and couldn't eat it. While it was nice to not have to worry about paying bills after dinner each night, it was sadly apparent that the quality of food was not as important to the hotel than the quantity. Besides the "Grill," I don't think any of the food I ate was made to order. Be careful though; I like my meat red, but some of the red meat we ordered was barely cooked at all. Med/Rare came out more like rare. Also, next to some of the cheap dive eateries in San Miguel, the Mexican restaurant at CP wasn't anything to write home about. I will say the buffet breakfast in the morning was pretty good though.

The service was great, if not too formal. When we ordered the Tempranillo at dinner, we were given a bottle that was already opened. We didn't have a problem with that, but found little point in the waiter giving us a taste before pouring the already opened wine.

The pool & bar was really nice. On Friday evening there was a crowd of rowdy kids (18-21ish) taking shots for hours on end. It led to a game of volleyball which broke out into a fight (I kid you not - one man, who declared himself the ref, started arguing and kept pointing to his crotch?!). It was amusing watching from afar, but still a little unbelievable people fought over a game of pool volleyball...

I didn't mind that there was no beach, especially since you can jump in the water and snorkel right at the hotel anyway. I also took my first stab at scuba with the discovery dive. It was so gorgeous and I was taken really good care of by all the people at Aqua Safari.

We also did the day trip to Coba. I highly recommend it, even though it was really really hot walking around. Drink plenty of water.

In all, it was a nice place, if not a little expensive. As a picky eater (read: food snob), I am not sure I'll be doing an all-inlcusive again though.

This was a wonderful hotel! Excellent customer service! Great food, especially the breakfast buffet!!!! The best! The hotel shows were fabulous and our room was luxurious! Very comfortable bed! Very clean! Private snorkling area was very nice and spacious. Pool was relaxing and swim up bar was a plus! My husband just casually mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary when checking in...Well,that evening when returning from an excursion, we had an angel food cake on the table by jacuzzi with icing saying "happy anniversary"...We thought that was a very thoughful extra-touch!
Husband and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

  • Liked — comfortable stay with excellent service!
  • Disliked — some disruptive hall noise from other guests (in evenings)..but not a big problem.

My Husband and I spent our 10 day honeymoon at Cozumel Palace from June 18 - 28. It was the best vacation we have had. From the time you arrive to the time you leave you are catered to.
The pool is fantastic, the activity directors are fun. I had read reviews that the music at the pool was very loud and that the activity directors were pushy. I did not find this to be the case at all. The activity directors do ask you get involved but if you do not want to they will respect that and move on to the next guest.
The food was very good. The roomservice which has gotten bad reviews from people was actually very good.
My husband and I went deep sea fishing twice while there. Both trips were fun and we actually caught mahi mahi and a sailfish. The first trip my husband asked them to filet the fish and then he brought it to the Italian restaurant and asked them to grill it for our dinner. They were more then happy to do this for us and it was delicious.
The rooms are just as they appear on the website. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The jacuzzi tub was a bonus.
I would recommend going to Chankanaab it is beautiful. We booked a dolphin swim which was great. Even if you don't want to swim with the dolphins you must go to the beach there. Also rent a car or jeep and go around the island. The island is so pretty. Make sure to stop at Coconuts. The view from Coconuts is amazing and the food is really good.
The town is a short walk from the resort.
I would recommend CP to all honeymooners. They really do treat you well. When scheduling your honeymoon dinner try and go on a Saturday night. They set up the tables on one of the lower docks and it is more private and romantic then the dinners during the week which our out by the pool.
My husband and I can not wait to go back to CP for another vacation.

If you are looking for relaxation and TONS of excellent service, then the Cozumel Palace is the place for you! I thoroughly enjoyed this super clean hotel. The guest rooms were very nice and each one is equipped with a hot tub! The maid service was excellent. The food was very good and there were plenty of options. I enjoyed every meal and snack while I was there. We ordered many poolside meals and drinks. There were plenty of wait staff to take care of your every need! They were always helpful and eager to bring us drinks and food. The pool was very nice and had a great view of the beautiful Carribean Sea. They provided us with snorkeling equipment at no extra charge and we snorkeled at our hotel, just steps away from the pool. There was a beach area for relaxing under a sun hut and watching my little ones make sand castles. The kids are definitely not forgotten at this resort. They have 2 small kiddie pools and a play area with a swing set and slide. My girls loved it! The staff were so nice and friendly to my children. The spa was very nice and accomodating. I received an excellent massage and facial. My manicure and pedicure was excellent as well and they were more than happy to retouch my nails at no extra charge on two different occasions. I still can't believe the INCREDIBLE service! It was like a DREAM! I highly reccommend!!!!!!!!! Also, there was a grocery store across the street where you could buy diapers and things for babies (along with any thing else you might need.) I am always nervous about packing for the babies, but next time I will buy diapers and things there so that I don't have to lug so much stuff with us! We will definitely go back and won't hesitate to try another Palace Resort Hotel!!!!
