Dates: 10-13-2008 to 10-21-2008
Room: 515
So, after so many reviews and homework, we finally went to our honeymoon at the Cozumel Palace. I bought the week plus one day from a VIP member on ebay, which I HIGHLY recommend! They treat you as if you were the member, you get the silver VIP bracelet, and you get the perks for a better price than ANY of the travel sites! So, here is the breakdown of our trip.
FLIGHT AND TRANSPORTATION
We decided to fly into Cancun since it was hundreds of dollars cheaper. Being that we bought the VIP week, the transportation was included, which is a VERY good bonus (saved $100). We got our bags and met our van, which took us to Playacar Palace. We then ate lunch there cause we needed to wait for the next ferry. Once on the ferry, it was about a 45 minute ride across. At the other side, we caught a taxi for a short 3 minute ride.
ENTRANCE TO CP
We were immediately greeted with a damp towel, which was nice and expected. I thought they forgot about the champagne, but we got something better. It was called the "Check-in" drink, and was very delicious!
CHECK-IN
Check in went very well. We got there at 4pm, so we didn't have to wait for the room. After we got our keys, we made our honeymoon package reservations, got our free t-shirts, and set up our dinner. Then we got the weeks activities and set up other events.
ROOM
BEAUTIFUL! Just as in the pictures, we got a very nice room with all the great perks! Nothing was a surprise, since I did all my research. I was happy that the mini fridge had regular sodas and drinks too, and not just alcohol. The only problem was that 515 is one of the few rooms where the balcony isn't covered. SO, it was always wet after the rain, which kinda sucked. Our hammock was soaked most of the time.
Showers were huge, bathroom immaculate, and the bed was very comfortable for us. Hottub cool too, although we only used it three times.
ROOM SERVICE
VERY fast... although one time they messed up my food, but who cares, it's free anyway! They are very accomodating to help out!
FOOD
Honestly, all the food was good. I had NO problem with any of the food we ate. All the restaurants were great, and all the staff at the restaurants were awesome! (Except one guy who seemed to be on too much caffeine, lol).
STAFF
The entertainment staff were excellent! We got to know them very well by the end. Ricardo (Pretty Ricky) was very nice to everyone, and flirtatious to the women, lol. Sujei was very kind and social to everyone, along with Theresa (Theresita). Papi (Miguel) and Danny Boy (Daniel) were both hilarious. And on our last day we met Laura who just got back from vacation. Everyday they did their best to keep the guests enjoying their stay! I got close to them all and they remember your name instantly! Great people...
SERVICE
By far the best service I received anywhere. I don't think we ever got a "No". Everything was YES, IT'S A PLEASURE, and YES AGAIN, lol. 100% nice people! Luis at the bar was my best bartender. Got me addicted to Grasshoppers, which were very tasty.
All in all, this was great!
Pros: Service, Rooms, Staff, Location...
Cons: After 10pm, the hotel is pretty much dead.
