We, arrived on Sunday afternoon after spending 3 days in Playa del Carmen. We were looking forward to some rest and relaxation after spending a more active stay in Playa del Carmen, including zip-lining through the jungle and mountain biking. Cozumel Palace definitely delivered!! We were greeted with cool, herbal towels (which were a relief after accidently walking approx. 12 blocks to the hotel with all our luggage!) and the staff at check in were extremely friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see us. We had booked our vacation on Ebay through Wendy's Treasures and were a little nervous but had no reason to be. We arrived early and our room was not ready, but we were served cold drinks and taken care of as if we were royalty.
We decided to have a bite to eat in the daytime buffet and were delighted by all the choices! The food was excellent, and not just because we were famished! We tried brushing up on our "espanol" and the staff was very encouraging. Everyone had a great sense of humor. After filling our bellies, our room was ready. We were guided to the top floor and were awestruck by the beauty of the room. Trust us, the pictures do not lie! The room was so relaxing and elegant at the same time, and the view was stunning! Thinking things couldn't get any better, we were asked if we wanted the liquor cabinet unlocked; we had officially arrived to the honeymoon of our dreams! We used the hot tub in the room everyday but one and loved it, they even provide bubble bath for you!
We were vey giddy and went to every show at night and felt the staff did a great job entertaining everyone. We were amazed at the energy and excitement the entertainment staff exuded! We ate in all 4 restaurants, and definitely loved Flamingos Grill outside. The T-bone is fantastic! We also enjoyed the Italian restaurant. We found the Japanese restaurant to be our least favorite, even the ice cream we had taken to our room was discarded (a sin back at home).
I enjoyed laying by the pool and being served poolside like a diva, and my new husband, Craig, spent time meeting new people by the poolbar. Beware the conga line that can begin at anytime at the poolbar. We lost an entire day thanks to alot of sun and too many mixed shots. Augustine, you will forever haunt our dreams! There is no beach but the snorkeling is okay if you want to pass some time. We took advantage of the glass bottom boat/snorkel tour and had a blast! Our guide was amazing and we saw many unique fish, including a barracuda. We also took the Tulum tour and are so glad we did! The ruins are absolutely awe-inspiring. It is hard to do this ancient site justice through pictures and you must see it for yourself. We didn't have time to swim at the beach, but it sure looked like fun!
Being that we were on our honeymoon, we were entitled to a candlelit dinner by the water (the meal was good but the dessert was phenomenol!) and a bottle of champagne in the room. Ask if you can get you bottle on your first day, we got ours on the last and were unable to drink it because we arrived to our room too late and hungover.
Everytime we had called the front desk or for room service we were greeted with a smiling voice. We were even given a courtesy call to verify if we had been tended to in a timely manner. We can't say enough great things about this hotel. Even all the guests we met were fabulous and feel we have made some great friends on our honeymoon. We look forward to meeting all of you again when we return to Cozumel Palace!
