We stayed at Cozumel Palace from June 14-21 and had the best vacation and best all-inclusive experience ever. We have been to several 4 and 5 star resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean and none of them come close to comparing to the excellent service, spacious, comfortable rooms (with beds which are NOT hard as a rock), choice of a la carte restaurants (which do not require reservations) and quality and tastiness of the food and drinks.

Our group consisted of my husband and I, our 2 daughters (both 17), my brother and sister-in-law and their 16 year old daughter. We were very fortunate to have been upgraded to the mezzanine rooms which gave the girls their own sleeping area and bathroom. Our rooms were next door to each other on the first floor, we had balconies with hammocks and a gorgeous view of the ocean.

The rooms were exceptionally clean as was the entire resort. Housekeeping cleaned our room every morning and came in the evening to turn down the beds and deliver clean towels. The air conditioning worked very well and kept our room quite cool. This was especially refreshing after a hot and sweaty walk into town. The jacuzzi, filled with lukewarm water, was very soothing after too much time in the sun.

We were amazed by the service we received from the wait staff. The waiters at the pool made sure you had all the food and drink you wanted ~ all day long. We saw the same staff working from the time we woke up until the time we went to bed. The service we received in the restaurants was just as good, if not better. (Samuel from MoMoNoHana - We love you!!)

The same with the activities staff. They were going at 100% all day every day. Our girls fell in love with Gabriel, Ricardo and Danny. Laura played a crazy card game with our family after hours. They are all fabulous! The shows they put on each night are not nearly as cheesy as we've encountered elsewhere. The fire show and Mexican night were our favorites.

I've read almost all of the reviews posted here for Cozumel Palace. It appears that 98% of them are positive. This should tell you something. Apparently the people who feel compelled to complain about bedbugs, drunk screaming rednecks, rashes and abscesses, undercooked food, 7 hour volleyball games, etc, etc, etc are chronic complainers who will always find fault wherever they go. Don't put too much stock into their reviews. Go there expecting a great vacation, be civil to the people who work there, have a little patience, and enjoy yourself.

I am a Palace Rresorts member. I have stayed at most of the other resorts. I understood this was a "3 star" resort and most other palace resorts were a 5 star. We decided to stay in Cozumel so we could snorkel right off the deck at the hotel every day.

Right from the start, I knew we in trouble. The service was horrible and our room smelled like a sewer. I told my husband that I wanted to transfer to Playa de Carmen and there was a problem..most of our luggage was "lost" and we were afraid to "tranfer" to another Palace Resort and never see our luggage again. BTW, when we told the staff we were without our luggage we got the...we don't speak English deal. No support or help.

I cannot express how bad our stay was. The room was filty..and btw we picked up bedbugs there. Google it and be amazed. I reported the sewer smell and the "beetles" on the bed and had no help. The expensive amenties promised on the website only appeared after meeting with the PR rep. A reporter from Conde Nest was also vacationing during our stay, and I'll tell you right now he received VERY different service and care than "us" as members. Don't believe anything you read about this resort that he has written. (He also was arrogant enough to say he helped develop the menus, which were horrible,)

Last but not least, let's review the highlights of our trip. Being served undercooked chicken, and having the next table complain of the same, night after night. Being asked to leave our table before we were finished eating "so others could view the show" (remember this is an all inclusive place). Any swimming off the deck (in the corel reefs) was closed for 2 days when we were there, due to the box jelly fish. The days it was "open" for swimming were dismal...the coral reef is basically gone from the area, even though they still advertise it. Furthermore what they didn't say was getting in the water risked getting "diver's dermatitis" or "sea lice". By the time we got home we were covered in a very itchy rash....worse underneath where your bathing suit is. Both of us developed very severe abscesses from the lavae, missed work and were almost hospitalized. I've never been so sick in my life.

We reported all of this to Palace Resorts. Nothing was done of course so be warned. And whatever you do don't buy a time share!

We stayed at the Cozumel Palace from June 9th through the 13th for our honeymoon. Upon our arrival, we were promptly greeted by the resort employees. They offerred us a drink and had us to sit in the lobby to wait for our representative. Our representative stated that our records did not indicate we were on our honeymoon and did not even ask for proof. she immediately went to get our pink wristbands and give us the honeymoon package. We also had found they booked us in a room with two beds and the only other king they had was a view of the street. I was a little upset by this until she did everything in her power to find us a room. We had to wait for them to clean it and get it ready, but we were very satisfied with the room they gave us.

This was a very relaxing resort and the employees cater to your every need. We ordered off menu items for room service and they had no problems producing the items.

There were a lot of younger people taking the pool over most of the time, but we spent most of our time snorkeling anyway so it was no big deal. We spent alot of relaxing time in our hammock and it was really nice!

The rooms are beautiful and jacuzzi is great! Bed is a a little firm for my taste and the food is not GREAT but it's good.

I would definitely stay here again..they had great snorkeling!

  • Liked — Snorkeling and the employees were always happy
  • Disliked — The firm bed and the food wasn't the best

Our Tour of the Palace Resorts begins and ends with the Cozumel Palace.

The Cozumel Palace is a really Nice Hotel/Resort...it is small but that is part of it's appeal.

Lobby:The materials and finishes of the floor and the furnishings are top notch and well kept. The views from the looby of the pools & ocean are spectacular, makes for a nice place to meet and share a beverage at the Lobby Bar. The gift shop has a multitude of items from drug store type goods, clothing and handmade gifts.

Staff:Always helpful, english speaking, rooms were cleaned and stocked everyday (on time). Guest services made all of the Tour reservation without a hitch, check in and check out was clear concise and easy, wait staff was egaer to please and feed you. It was nice to be greeted by your family name and have the staff know what your kids like to do eat & drink and provide service with a smile.

Room: Nice view, plenty of space for 4 well appointed and clean. A few concerns (very small) the beds were on rollers and tended to slide easily on the marble floor. The TV dosent really have english speakin programming. I bring this up because a few of the days/nights we had rain and were in the room worn out from the tours and the kids couldn't watch Sponge Bob because it was in spanish..And I couldn't watch the NBA Finals. However the Wifi in the rooms was blazing fast so streaming was not a problem

Pools: Infinity pools were cols and the kids loved them they were a bit small and they do not have much space to hide from the splashing about if you want to have a relaxing swim, but still a great way to beat the heat.

Beach: NO BEACH...Pleanty of snorkle area roped off with free equip which was nice and the clear water had plenty of fish to see. There are 2 sand areas to cool out and have a drink the kiddie pool wasn't being used but it is there and the playground was roped off..

Food: Way above average...great steaks...out door grill was well an out door grill so boys/teens will love it. The Menus are static and get kinda tiresome, but the food is good and presentation is nice. Breakfast is buffet and made to order and plentiful so wear your "strechy pants". There is always a snack with a cofee & or Margarita Bar in the lobby.

There isn't much to do for kids/teens other than swim / snorkle there is a kids club...buuuttt...not many activites.

The Nightly shows were some of the best I have seen make sure you see the fire show. And sign up 1st thing for the tours with guest services

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary at Cozumel Palace; which was an all inclusive package. Upon arriving, they gave us a glass of champagne and cool towels for our neck/wrist. When we mad it to our room, they had a happy anniversary cake, fruit, and bottle of champagne waiting in our room!

The room was very nice and clean. It had marble floors as well marble in the shower. As a special treat, they had full sized “silk” shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Also, they provided many other toiletries that I am not used to receiving from other hotels.

The room was stocked with in-room liquor dispensers (tequila and rum); which were un-locked once we got to the room. Also, they provided a refrigerator full of water, sodas, and Mexican beer. We were told that they would replenish any thing that was used. On the very first day, we consumed 4 bottles of water and sure enough, they replaced the water as promised and continued this process throughout our 8 day stay!!!

Cozumel Palace has great entertainment. We found ourselves not wanting to leave the resort because we were afraid that we would miss something. They offered many optional excursions. Some days we just stayed at the resort and relaxed.

They have 4 restaurants to choose from. Each one provided good service as well as good food. The outside grill was our favorite.

The service was nothing less than impeccable! If you like to be taken care of, Cozumel Palace is your place. It was perfect in every way. I can’t think of anything they need to change.

The snorkeling was GREAT!!!!
