We loved the Cozumel Palace and we will go back! We had much confusion leading up to our trip about whether to book at Cozumel Palace or at another all-inclusive and we ended up choosing the CP. We made the RIGHT choice for sure!

We arrived at the hotel around 2 pm-ish and were greeted by very friendly bellmen who took our bags. Then, we walked inside and received cold, lavendar scented towels and a blue drink in champagne glasses...what a relief! We checked in with no problem and had a seat in the comfortable lounge to await further "instructions". We were told all about the resort and then we were free to go to our room. We waited only a few minutes! Even though we booked the room at the last minute before our trip, we still got a 5th floor room right over the pool with a perfect view of the ocean. So incredibly beautiful! It was hard to get us off the balcony!

The bartenders and waiters were great. We only had one negative experience with a waiter. He basically ignored us through our whole meal and in turn, he was the only person we didn't tip all week. Thank goodness it was a buffet and we only needed him to refill drinks. EVERYONE (with the exception of rude-waiter) was so nice, friendly, and helpful.

We kept to ourselves most of the trip and we still had a great time. We spent a lot of time at the pool and a lot of time in our room. We could watch the evening festivities from our balcony but if we got tired or wanted quiet all we had to do was close the doors and the sound was almost completely drowned out. In fact, several time we thought the shows had ended but when we stepped out on the balcony we found they were still in full swing. We snorkeled outside the resort and it was nice but the masks were cheap and they leaked...but hey, they were free so I'm not complaining. We had a couples massage at the spa and it was great. However, I think the "couples" distinction made it more expensive so I would recommend the same massage but SEPERATE. My eyes were closed the whole time and it wasn't like my husband and I were chatting through the massage. Anyway, I think it's cheaper to get the same massage in seperate rooms so suggest that :-) I also had a pedicure at the spa and it was NOT worth the $27.

The food was great! We loved both the Italian and Mexican restaurants but we did not have a chance to try the Oriental. The breakfast buffet was great (I ate my weight in bacon and omlettes). The lunch buffet was good...not great...but good. The poolside grill was the same...just good. We had room service several times and it was fast and the food was good. Especially the chicken broth soup and the smoked salmon appetizer. At the Mexican restaurant I suggest the Lime Soup (EXCELLENT). At the Italian restaurant my husband got a steak that was topped (I think) in a balsamic sauce and it had pecans on the top of it....EXCELLENT MEAL!!!!

The rooms were JUST as they appear in the pictures. Beautiful. The jacuzzi is really nice and seems like a high-end model....it was nicer than I expected it to be. The shampoo, conditioner and lotion they give you are to die for and the shower was so wonderful. All glass with great water pressure and super steamy and hot! Then you would step out into a cool bathroom and it was heaven! The toothbrush, toothpaste and razor were there as promised and when we asked for replacements, they were brought quickly. Our rooms were cleaned in the late morning and then the turndown service would tidy up, make the bed, replace the towles and bathmat. Such a nice touch b/c we took a nap almost everyday and we showered twice a day most days so having a fresh room twice was wonderful!

We only saw, maybe, 5 or 6 young children there and we never felt like the resort was overun with kids. It was a nice mix of people...babies to elderly and we all got along great :-)

I can't say enough great things about this resort. I HIGHLY recommend it!

My husband and I got married at the Cozumel Palace in January with 45 guests and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff, especially the pool wait staff, was attentive and friendly. Each night, the maid service put flowers in our room (and for our guests too). The wedding coordinator did everything to accomodate our large group and create a perfect wedding and reception. The resort is beautiful, the food is pretty good for an all-inclusive and it's clean and pretty. Honestly, I wouldn't have changed a thing about my wedding and the Palace played quite a big role. Everyone in our group is still talking about the place and can't wait to return.

We just returned from our week long stay during the first week in May. The Palace appearance was just like the photos provided on their website. We were amazed at how clean the staff kept the facilities. Our fears of getting sick on vacation were not realized, and we ate everything! We thought the food was very good. Of course being an all incluvsive was great for us. All the dringks, food and activities that we wanted. At the end of our stay, we did not owe at penny. What a way to finish a vacation. Because of the great time, as soon as we got back home we had to start planning our next trip

  • Liked — Quality and cleanliness
  • Disliked — Marble floors created a louder environment than we like. But, they look great!

Perhaps we were spoiled by the Secrets Capri near Playa del Carmen, but the Palace was a quite a disppointment in comparison. Although the rooms were comfortable, the service, from check-in through check-out was not up to par.

The food was mediocre at best and one of the restaurant managers was unconcerned with "making it right" when we waited over 90 minutes to be seated (we eventually gave up and had cold room service food). The problem was partially due to table turnover, but there were many tables which had turned over and had not been cleared and reset. The next morning, we inquired with another manager if the general manager would be in that day, and he didn't know but assured us he'd tell the GM we wanted to speak to him.....this didn't happen that day or the next.

The best thing I can say is that the staff were friendly and positive and we showed our appreciation with generous tips....the problem did not seem to be attitude, but rather training and management.

Overall, adequate, but probably won't return to this hotel.

This was our first time at an all-inclusive. We were a little hesitant, but were happy with the choice.

The Good - I thought the rooms were great. They were clean, have an amazing view of the water and comfortable beds. The service was amazing. I was beyond impressed. Everyone went above and beyond. You can ask for anything and they would help you get it. everyone knew your name. I thought the property was nice and I loved the island. If you like to dive, this is the place.

The OK - I thought the food was just ok. Breakfast was fine. Lunch wasn't great, but I figured out it was best to ask for mexican food and had them make me chicken tacos and quesodillas every day. Dinner wasn't that good. I guess I should have expected that. I know a lot of other reviewers talk about all the great places. I thought the best place to eat was the outside grill because at least they cooked a steak, chicken or fish to order. Even that was just ok. We went out into town a couple nights and thought the food was better.

Final analysis. We aren't lay by the pool people. If that's what you are looking for, this is a good place. We like to do that some of the time, but like activities. The diving was amazing, but I think if I had to do it over again, I would have stayed in Playa Del Carmin and then take the ferry over to dive. The town in Cozumel is dead at night. It's a cruise ship town. All in all it was good time.
