We stayed at the El Presidente the week of Feb 20th, and loved every minute. The service is excellent and the entire staff is wonderfully polite and gracious. We loved the beachfront room for it's beautiful sunsets and easy access to the beach. Where else can you have a romantic dinner for two served under the stars on the beach? The hotel beach is one of the best on the island, with world-class snorkeling. The location is excellent; less than 2 KM south of town, which is enough for some seclusion, and still only a 5-min,$5 cab ride to great local restaurants, night clubs, and shopping. The dive shop at El Presidente, Scuba Du, is great and divers come from other resorts to dive with them.

PS - We turned the air conditioner off most days to enjoy the steady breeze, and found it got positively cold when the maid turned it way up while she worked.

I have been in this hotel but the room are so humid and dreary.
So is a perfect pleace to stay if you like a prison like guantanamo style.
About food if you take care at your healt change place.
At the end MOSQUITO, MOSQUITO, SANDFLY,SANDFLY

If you like to have a room with very poor airconditoning system,in the evening walking to the in house restaurant and receive a mac donald style food at a 5 star price ,if you like to be treated very rude by your mexican waiter ,if you like a litlte swimming pool ,jacuzzi style ,if you like a very small and very crowded beach that's your place don t miss it. book it!

I was at the resort last week and was very disappointed with the service. We repeatedly had to call for clean towels and beverages for our in-room refrigerator. The method to book the non-buffet retaurants was an inconvenience, you had to go wait hours every morning to be reserved and. the food selection was disgusting.
