“Presidente”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

I have stayed at the Presidente many times over the past few years, Its very consistent , the place Is always very clean, The staff are always very polite and helpful, However a little to expensive for what you get, the cost of the rooms are high they don't need to back door you with their silly service charge"..only one restaurant on site and that Is private and overpriced food is ok to good. , the hotel restaurant Is more casual, food Is fair, but you really need to go Into town..$20 round trip taxi ride ...But overall the Presidente Is a great place to stay...

Room Tip: If staying for more than 3 days rent a car...

We stayed in the Ocean Suite room and I miss it already. We had such a phenomenal time in Cozumel and the Presidente made it absolutely better. They worked with me in the weeks leading up to our vacation and decorated our room in a romantic fashion. Professional and pleasant staff were great plus. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and I can't wait to use them again!

Room Tip: Breakfast in your room is pricey, but absolutely worth it!

Great snorkeling off the hotel's docks. The hotel is nice and very well maintained. The water is calm and beautiful, with a variety of fish to see. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cab ride to town is quick, and there are a good variety of restaurants to choose from. A great trip!

recently enjoyed a four night stay with our 7 yr son. property is clean and well kept but compared to many other resorts we've stayed at, it was a bit tired. we were not surprised based on previous reviews, but it was kind of a bummer when we arrived. however the goal of the trip was to introduce our son to the wonders of underwater marine life...and this was a huge success. we were snorkeling within 30 minutes of arriving. he did great so we booked a private trip with cozumel h20 the next day. he did awesome on that trip too so we rented some lights from scuba du and did some night snorkeling. he got spooked about 30 minutes into that one but heck, I was too.

the prices for food are on the high side but not as bad as some other resorts. eating healthy is very doable. we even our our freshly caught tuna cooked for dinner ... so sweet!

wife hit the spa and loved it. service was great. being low season, we felt like we had the place to ourselves many times. a staffer made a comment that they were at 35% occupancy. it felt like it but for good reasons.

great trip and if I were to go back to cozumel, i would seriously consider this property again.

This was a great hotel. It was a bit more pricy than others on the island. However, the facilities were clean and well maintained. Additionally, everyone on the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed snorkeling off the hotel's piers. Overall, the stay was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Travelling from England to Cozumel was definitely a trek! On arrival at the hotel we were greeted with bottles of cool drinking water and ice cold face towels - heaven! This care and attention to detail continued throughout the whole of our 11 night stay. My son celebrated his 18th birthday during our holiday. A celebration drink and surprise birthday cake was arranged by Manuel the restaurant superviser. Manuel also arranged for us to eat out on the restaurant terrace with breath taking views of the sun setting. The hotel, gardens beach etc are immaculate the staff work tirelessly to ensure this. The weather was inclement at times which hindered out door pursuits, instead we enjoyed painting pottery under the sheltered area. The snorkelling was fantastic with an amazing array of sea life. We bought the snorkelling equipment locally which saved the cost of daily hire.
We ordered from the breakfast menu as it worked out better value for money the breakfast was plentiful with refills of coffee.
We didn't use the spa facilities the treatment costs were very expensive.
We would definitely return to the Presidente we enjoyed playing tennis volley ball the pool was a good size.
We upgraded to ocean view rooms I would recommend this to others.
Yazmin the restaurant supervisor deserves a special mention her friendliness and exceptional customer service impressed us all, we will return!

We have stayed at the Presidente Inter-Continental before and loved the beach, piers for snorkeling and the beauty of its location. All those things are still in place, but a decade later the facilities are the same: dated. The dining options are so limited ONLY ONE RESTAURANT OPEN?? The place needs some energy, it almost seems like it is in receivership and state run. The only attention you get is when they try to sell you their vacation club program. The staff at dinner is better than breakfast, but for what you pay for meals, and it is overpriced, there is little customer service, they simply go through the motions. Nobody makes you feel special, we met a lovely couple (he was an Ambassador in their hotel program) on their honeymoon and they sent them strawberries with mold on them. You can't make this stuff up, there is nothing special about staying here. Great location and beach; but does anyone really manage this hotel? Where is the passion for the customer, the short and long term vision for this beautiful property? There are better places to stay in Cozumel, places that value you and deserve your business. This hotel is in an induced coma, no wonder capacity was ~30% when we were there, who would come back?
