I stayed at the Pres. Czm for 9 nights at the end of March with my husband and two kids age 7 and 10. I am very picky about hotels and I loved this property. The grounds and palapa restaurant (the outdoor one) were immaculate. I did not go to the indoor Italian restaurant. The open air restaurant under the big palapa was so amazing right on the ocean with the ocean breezes and view, I would not have eaten inside if they had given it to me free. The food at the beach bar and the big palapa was amazing. All my favs: gazpacho, civiche, guac, fish, etc. Everything was great. We got an ocean view from a garden view room but still moved a few days later to a walk out beach front. It's the only way to go. We loved it. The bathroom was very big with an outdoor shower. We used the chici club and the nanny service and both were great. But most of the time we just let the kids roam free as the property is secluded and safe with many lifeguards. The beach is pristine and even with the hotel nearly full, the beach was never crowded. The morning restaurant service tended to be a bit slow, but it just didn't matter.
The beach bar drinks are fantastic and the bartender friendly.
Watch out for the drinks at happy hour, they are not less in alcohol just because they give you two of them.
We went diving with Scuba Du several times and it was a great experience. Snorkeling right AT the hotel I saw a HUGE green Moray Eel and a large Manta Ray. Not a lot of color but a lot of fish.
Just remember, this is Mexico, if you want five star America, STAY in America. But you would be making a big mistake. I will be back to this hotel !!!!!!!

We just got back from our best stay yet at The Presidente! The Hotel just seems to improve and out do itself everytime we return. The Hotel, The staff, the food and beverages plus the great service is just un belivable. Our family felt at home as we were pampmered daily. If you truly want to get away, feel secure and be treated like royalty this is the place.
Thanks again!

Stayed at the hotel week before easter. 2nd time there. the hotel and staff are superb, and the rooms are nicely furnished and decorated. Have read complaints of pressure from salespeople but i do not find this to be true. Once again i cannot stress the courteous and freindly staff. i toured other hotels while on island and for my money Presidente is the best . Special thanks to Dee and Ani for all you're help

Presidente is definetly the best hotel on Cozumel. Very clean, updated and modern. Exclusive location with security guards and long palm lined drive to the main road is just a short cab ride to town. We had a beach side suite with a very cool private out door shower. (there was also an inside shower) keep the door to your partio closed or the sand grabs will sneak in.
Great staff, nice hotel. Cozumel is much more of a mid-range, med income destination. If you like luxury this is the only place to find it on this island.

We stayed here for 8 nights during spring break. It was our first time at this hotel and we loved it. The grounds were really nice, the beach was great and we had an ocean suite which was huge and deluxe. Snorkeling in front of the hotel was really nice as well - just as good as Chankanaab and free! Although it was spring break it didn't feel too crowded and we never had any problem finding a nice palapa - even late in the morning. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to provide good service, offer assistance or advice. Food and drinks were great - drinks tended to be stronger than the ones we were served in town so pace yourself. I have read other posts from folks indicating the food is expensive here but I think it depends on what you order. Yes,the buffets were pricey but still cheaper than where we are from and cheaper than Hawaii and various cities we have visited in California. If you order from the menu the prices are quite reasonable - ie $6 USD for large scrambled egg breakfast - looked like 3 eggs, hash browns, grilled tomato and 4 slices of toast. Dinner was $14 USD for half chicken, $17 USD for fish entree and all very tasty. The dive operator there, Scuba Du is very good - their boats are in good condition and tend to be larger than many of the other dive operators (and not crowded), good equipment, the DM's were excellent especially with our son who was nervous as he had never done any boat dives or drift dives before. Lots of different dive options to choose from as well. We travel a lot and have stayed at Hyatt, Westin, Sheraton, Fairmont hotels and the El Presidente has been the best all around from our experiences.
