This property is located on an uncrowded stretch of coast, a $5 cabride from the town of Cozumel. The sunsets are spectacular, and you can snorkel right off the beach in turquoise waters. The pool was gorgeous and both restaurants offered great food.
The staff was exceptional and did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable. I stayed in a Beach Front Superior room, which I heard from friends was much nicer than the pool view rooms which were fairly basic--not what you'd expect at an InterContinental. The Beach Front Superior rooms have both indoor, and outdoor rainhead showers within your own enclosed private back patio. They also have terraces/patios facing the pool/beach.
I appreciate the staff going the extra mile. When I couldn't get the wireless to work on my laptop, their onsite tech guy provided me with a wireless card and made sure that it was setup and ready to go.
If you like dolphins, check out the nearby Dolphin Cove where you can swim with the dolphins--what an amazing experience!
This is a beautiful relaxing resort, which offers the unspoiled Mexican coast with the service for which IC is known. Only negative is that my room cost $500-$600 per night, which seems pricey giving the amenities and location. I would love to come back here, but it seems expensive compared to what other 5-stars in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen cost, so do your comparison shopping for the best deal.
