Back from our Wonderful family holiday in cozumel. It would have been perfect but it was slightly tainted by some bad reviews. I’m just so glad that we stuck with white sands, and didn’t move hotels.
The day we arrived the splash pool opened, but the activity pool closed! This was not a problem as the activities run very smoothly in the relaxation pool. The splash pool was amazing and your children will love it. (We went on it too, it’s even more fun if you use a rubber ring to go down the slides!!!)
We stayed in a standard room facing the jungle, which was wonderful as we looked over and could see flamingos flying and iguanas climbing trees. At nighttime the bushes twinkled with fireflies it was out of this world. The week after we arrived we saw a tarantula on one of the apartment walls. I don’t like spiders but I was so chuffed I managed to get a picture of one (on someone else’s wall of course). We only saw one scorpion but it was quite large.
We were really worried about the rooms as we had heard so much bad press about them, but when I saw it we were pleasantly surprised. We had two upper floor rooms back to back and the high thatched roofs made it feel really spacious. The rooms were well looked after by the maids. Fresh water was popped into the rooms everyday and we had some wonderful towel models made, which my seven year old loved. We met a great family on the second week with two young girls; they had a problem with their room but were moved straight away. We asked for a fridge when we arrived as we needed it for our daughters medication. It arrived at our room in 20mins.
We enjoyed the food, there was plenty of it and catered for all our tasted. My 7ry was very pleased to see frosties at breakfast! I still looked forward to coming home and having a roast after two weeks though!
The Entertainment staff are THE BEST!! They really made our holiday. We aren’t really ones for joining in with things like water polo and quizzes but we did this time. It was so much fun. (A huge thank you to Steve and Sav ) They work so hard and gave us the best time. The nighttime entertainment staff (E3 team) was so talented and hard working. My 7yr cried so much on the last night as she didn’t want to say goodbye). Penny, Oli, Carlos, fleur & Kim you’re all amazing!!
The kids clubs were so well run and enjoyable that my daughter wanted to go there all the time. We had to talk her into spending time with us!!
I also heard a lot of bad things about Simon (FC Rep) before I went. Well I’m sorry for anyone who feels that way but we thought he was great! Very helpful and fun to talk to NO complaints at all! Then again we weren’t horrible to him in the first place. (Pity he’s a Cardiff fan though) Well we had to beat someone in the FA cup!!
Go and swim with dolphins, its only ten minuets away and its fantastic in every way.
Three of us did the dolphin encounter, and two did the royal swim. We had some lovely photos to come away with and it was all on video. It was wonderful to watch again when we got home.
We also did the sunset cruise and snorkelled with torches it was really good fun and the sea was really warm.
Hired a car and had a good look around the island! If you turn right when you come out of the resort and follow the road round, you will see some beautiful coastline. The town has some great shops and is very cheap. The shop owners are not pushy; if you say you’re not interested they will leave you alone. The only one we found a pain was the timeshare tout’s! (Just keep walking).
Parasailing, jet skies, we done so much and had so much fun.
Thanks again to all that made our holiday so Brilliant, and if your getting ready to go to White Sands have fun! We would go back again.
Jan, Paul, Marie, Carla & Charlotte
