“Romantic and Tasty!”

We ate at La Perlita in December 2009 while staying at a nearby hotel. This small, quaint restaurant with an extensive seafood menu was an experience not to be missed. We selected the catch of the day to share, which was an enormous, flaky, tender, tasty fish cooked with garlic and served with tortillas, rice, and guacamole. As delicious as it was, it was way more than the two of us could finish. And the prices...what a bargain!

The atmosphere is very romantic in this palapa style building with soft globe lights strung about the dining area. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

We are looking forward to enjoying more meals at La Perlita on our future Cozumel visits!

“A true gem.....do not miss!!!”

Outstanding fresh seafood. We discovered them a couple years ago and after coming to Cozumel for 10 yrs, we are sorry it took so long. Visit a couple times each trip and it is like being asked to dinner by friends. The beautiful family that owns and operates this gem live next door and have a fish market which helps with freshness and value. We always have fired whole fish, that we pick out, along with lobster plus an amazing app of toasted seafood tostadas. We have introduced new people we meet on vacation to this place and they are believers. They also make amazing non seafood dishes when requested. TRUELY NOT TO BE MISSED

“Best Place to Eat In Cozemel !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2008

We ask Fernando, the Taxi Driver to take us someplace with great seafood. It was EXCELLENT!!!! Best seafood we have ever had! We ordered the combination plater. This was the best part of our cruise! How we wished we could have stayed and not got back on that ship! We will miss this place!

“fish market and restaurant”

La Perlita is just past Ave. 65 and down a side street about one block so it has the feel of a neighborhood locals restaurant but one for a special meal. It has an attached fish market for to go orders and serves fresh fish in the usual ways. The mixed seafood platter seems to be on most tables here but we go for whatever is fresh.

I normally order mine empanizada which is a filet coated in a corn flake crust and fried. Crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside. They have black beans that is more like a soup but goes well with the fish and rice.

If you want a break from downtown restaurants and are looking for a palapa type atmosphere give it a try. The chief of police was having lunch next to us last time we were there so you know it's safe!
