“Good food, Great atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We ate there twice on a 5 day trip to Cozumel. It is located a block and a half from our accommodations so it was an easy walk down there for dinner. The grounds are pretty, but to me the real attraction is the mission facade and tables on the covered terrace. The atmosphere is nice! The mariachi singers are fun too even though their repertoire is limited. They sang the entire time we were there with very few breaks. We enjoyed them!
Our first visit was on Monday March 24. We arrived for dinner and ordered mango margaritas (pretty good). Salsa/pico and chips are provided. Our dinner was surf and turf, 2 had coconut shrimp and I had the grilled fish fillet (grouper). The dinners came with sopa de lima (loved it), and vegetables and rice were served with the fish dinner. Surf and turf had baked potato. Everything was very good except the lobster was a tad on the tough side. The coconut shrimp was excellent. We had guacamole as an appetizer. Flan and sexy coffee followed and we enjoyed the flame show. Daniel was our waiter and he was very attentive - excellent.
Our second visit was not as good. We ordered margaritas - 3 had strawberry, and I had lime. The lime one was so strong I asked to have it made weaker so I could actually drink it. It was really pure alcohol. Our dinners were lacking as well. We had queso fundido which was good - just melted cheese to eat with the salsa/pico, tortillas and chips. We ordered 2 of the grouper fish fillets and they were very bland. I had a mexican combo plate and it was nothing spectacular. We also ordered the beef fajitas - ok as well. Only one of us received the sopa de lima but we didn't ask about it because after all that cheese we were getting full already! For dessert we ordered a flan and 2 sexy coffees. The presentation was good as before but without as much fanfare.
Overall we enjoyed the restaurant. For us the food was good but not fabulous. We enjoyed the setting and music. We would go back.

“A great dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We went here for supper on the recommendation from a friend. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it. The setting was neat - you're in an outdoor courtyard looking out on beautiful gardens. The food was tasty. The fajitas were great and my son enjoyed his seafood dish. We didn't try the flaming coffee but it was fun to watch it being prepared for some guests at another table.

“Did not disappoint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

Like other reviewers we thought this place was excellent. The tables are well situated overlooking the garden. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was good. The only thing that let it down slightly was the limited range of wines, with no drinks menu. If my recollection is correct, there were just two white wines on offer with no clue as to price. On leaving the waiter walked us to a cab, a nice touch.
