“Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

We learned about this restaurant through an article in a newspaper. Checked out the reviews on Tripadvisor, and we were off. What a great find in an otherwise very tourist location. We went for dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic and very reasonably priced. The food is prepared very true to the Mexican / Mayan style. The owners are wonderful. Service was great. I suggest you take a cab, it is a long walk from the ferry.

“A true family restaurant and a real gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

We have been coming to Cozumel for the last 5 years and never miss it. The grilled shrimp and garlic shrimp are amazing. The margaritas and Guac are outstanding and the service can't be found anywhere else on the island. This is worth the walk or cab ride. You won't be disappointed!

“My Favorite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

This little restaurant is family run and off the touristy section but well worth the trip. Just give the taxi driver the name and you'll be there in 5 minutes. The food is fantastic, well priced and they take really good care of you. I had the Fish Fillet Vera Cruz which was grouper with onions, peppers, peas, olives and a red sauce over it. I wanted to lick the plate clean it was that good!!!

“Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

If you come to Cozumel you should not miss this great restaurant. Though it is a bit far from downtown, you can get there in a 5 minutes taxi ride. It is the best value on the island. It is as good as the coral reefs.

“Good stuff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013 via mobile

Well off the beaten path, it will be worth the effort. El Moro doesn't win a lot of style points for romantic setting or flashy decor and it can get hot inside. No a/c just fans. It will be a little like cafeteria seating. Other than that...first class food all the way. A wonderful family run place that cares about taking care of you. Glad we found it and we'll be back.
