“Very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Very friendly. They were very accommodating although we were the only ones there except for some locals who were just watching TV. It was not as good a value as we expected. It was about $18 (us) pp and we ordered pork, a couple of beers for our group of five, beef. Didn't order seafood. We went our first day, and had a hard time finding it.

“Excellente!! We went here three times!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

If you visit Cozumel, then you MUST go to El Moro! Our family discovered this restaurant through trip advisor and the previous reviews were excellent! Our visit did not disappoint. We were greeted by Ray, the son of the owner. Ray was so helpful in telling us how dishes were prepared and added his recommendations. The garlic bread they served was magnificent!! Our meal was heavenly.

The second time we went to visit, Ray greeted us again and was so very happy to see us return. In the meantime, we had also gone to eat at two other restaurants, but our adult kids like El Moro best and requested to go back again.

On this visit, we all got different dishes and just like the first visit, all of our meals were scrumptious. Our adult kids even wanted their picture taken with Ray and a restaurant T-shirt.
We told Ray we were going to go deep sea fishing and he said if we caught anything to bring it to the restaurant and they would cook it for us.

A few days later, we went back and they cooked our fish three different ways! It was delicious!!
We enjoyed talking with Ray and finding out about his family and the restaurant. By the end of our stay, Ray was like a member of the family. It is an authentic Mexican restaurant. His family truly appreciates each and every person who comes to dine with them. A must do if you go to Cozumel!!

Our trip to Cozumel is not complete without a dinner at El Moro!! The food is always wonderful and the service is great. Definitely worth the trip off the tourist path to get here! Yum!!

“Like family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Fantastically friendly service, quirky ambience, and great food in great abundance! The conch and red snapper we had were wonderful! And they treated us like family, only better. We even got free drinks after the meal--a lovely touch.

“Fair Food... a lot of loud "boat people"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

We tried this restaurant out because I confused it with another restaurant I read here on tripadvisor. It didn't meet our expectations. Service was slow (not surprising for most restaurants but our table felt a little ignored. Other groups seem to enjoy everything including the service. We will probably not frequent this restaurant again but I can see how some might like it.
