“Favorite restaurant in Cozumel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We have made 9 trips to Cozumel and are absolutely hooked on El Moro. It is now where we eat on our first and last nights. The food is outstanding (the seafood platter for 2 is our favorite followed closely by the pork tampico but we have never had anything that was not good) and Ray is the perfect host.
It is off the beaten path but all cab drivers know where it is and we never had any trouble getting one to take us there or pick us up.
This is not a fancy restaurant, the atmosphere is very informal and family oriented.
Highly, highly recommend El Moro if you are in Cozumel.

“Fun and tasty!”

great food, pretty delicious. Not too overpriced for the area. We had the ceviche and one of the shrimp dishes. Service was fast and friendly.

“Always good”

You can't miss out on this one. The owner is there to make sure you get really good service. The restaurant is tucked away but the cab drivers know where it is.

“Great Food and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

El Moro is a bit hard to find but definitely worth the effort. Look for the small El Moro signs on the street corners in the neighborhood. Everything that our family of five tried was excellent and our waiter was prompt and very friendly. Highly recommended.

“Don't miss this incredible experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We visited El Moro when visiting Cozumel last week with friends who have been to the island many times. They love this place and I can see why! You come off the rather dingy street into an oasis of light and color. You are greeted by the smiling owner Ray who made us feel like such honored guests. The menu was surprisingly large and extensive. All four of us had something different and all loved their meals. I had the grilled garlic fish. It could not have been fresher and was delicious. Service was great! We had incredible coconut ice cream for dessert and then they gave us each a shot of a Mayan liqueur which is anise and honey in flavor. I think it is Xtabentun. Fun to try that.
There were a few very sweet and friendly dogs wandering in, but being dog lovers that was fine with us and just increased the experience for us.
I can't wait to go back! My husband wanted to go back later in our week to try something else there, but there were just so may places to try. But it is definitely one of those places you would enjoy returning to many times...
