“Hotel very pleasant to spend one or two nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

In this hotel you will sleep well and in a very pleasant environment even if it is rather a business hotel
This is where we slept better during the 2 week stay in Mexico !!
In this region of Mexico it is better to choose a hotel with fewer but real stars in a famous hotel brand !

Room Tip: room 248 and the next had a vibration noise very uncomfortable, we moved to the 4th floor and it was...

Very nice Courtyard. Much nicer than US versions. Property was very clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate a dinner for 25 with no notice. Far from beach, but nice place to stay

Was traveling to Roatan but due to weather problems the flight was diverted to Cancun. Stayed at the Marriott because it was very close to the airport and I was very happy with the hotel and overall experience. This Courtyard was large and nicer than most of the Courtyards I stay at in the States. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and roomy as well. I was very pleased with the staff. There were about 200 of us trying to check in at the same time and I was impressed how fast we were checked in and how polite the staff remained even after being swarmed. I had room service and the food was decent.

We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Hotel. The Restaurant was very good.
The pool was much larger than it shows in the photos. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.
The only downside was being asked to leave a tip by a waiter after breakfast.
We had left a tip at the evening meal, but had gone down for breakfast, which was included in the Room Rate, without any cash.
The breakfast was very nice but was a help yourself buffet, as the waiter had only poured out a tea. I didn't think it warranted a tip anyway.
The waiter, although very polite came up twice asking for a tip.
I would recommend this Hotel and would be quite happy spending several days there.

-Super close to the airport which is great after a long flight. We usually stay here for our first and last night in Quintana Roo as we travel around from place to place.
-The shuttle is great to and from airport the staff is great and check in has always gone smooth
-The door man who has been there since I have been staying there in 2008 is really polite and always a great help with luggage
- The lobby and common areas are very well kept and the grounds are beautiful
- Pool area is great with the exception of all the children that were constantly playing and splashing around in the hot tub like it was their personal bath tub, despite the large sign in the front of it that says in both English and Spanish "Hot tub is for adult use only" it never fails. And while I am on this subject during the last two nights on this trip there were numerous little kids coughing and spreading their germs everywhere in the pool and I don't mean a little cough, I mean like running around the outside common areas sneezing and hacking up a lung with the flu bug sick. Just a suggestion to parents staying in any hotel anywhere -
I understand that it is your children's vacation too but when your child gets the flu while on vacation your child needs a bed not a swim. Period!
Back to the hotel
-Nice hammocks everywhere on the grounds
-Very quiet, you forget you are just off of a busy road
-The hotel manager was a super nice guy and spent lots of time talking to us
-The restaurant staff is wonderful they are all very professional and accommodating
-The breakfast buffet has it all and is very good
-Everything we ordered off the dinner menu from pizza to steaks was also delicious but I would recommend you skip the quesadillas at lunch
-Great wine choices and the chocolate cake on the dessert menu was unbelievably good!
-Gym is small but serves its purpose and common area bathrooms are spotless
- Business centre is great for checking emails, there is a bank machine in the lobby and laundry service as well as washer and dryers on the second floor which we loved
-Rooms have everything you need and beds are comfortable
-Cleaning staff does a great job, the rooms do feel really clean
-Only issue I really have with this hotel is the musty smell that hits you in the face when you first walk in to most rooms. I am not sure why this is but I have been staying here multiple times a year for 5 years and its always been that way but it is not bad enough to scare us away. Maybe it is the carpet cleaner they use or due to humidity? I'm not sure but after 5 minutes we don't even notice it anymore
- It would be nice if the airport shuttle ran until midnight instead of 11 pm as we often have flight delays and end up having to pay for a cab and most flights from our part of the globe arrive at night
- We have stayed here upwards of 20 times and have had no major issues ever. We have had many wonderful stays here and we will return Cancun Courtyard Marriott again sometime soon

The usual last night before flying back home stay......and what a nice place! Had a suite, very clean & spacious. Even had a steam bath! The outdoor pool area has zen music playing softly, hammocks hanging from the trees, groupings of tables in covered area. Dining surprisingly up-scale, with indoor & outdoor seating. Free bottles of water in room, ICE MACHINES!
Only problem......Dropped off rental car at airport & tried to call hotel for van pickup No answer/no phone numbers worked. They gave me a card with US 1-800 numbers for pickup, which didn't work with pay phones or my cell. Finally had to text my son back at hotel to call front desk & arrange pickup.
Free transport in AM to airport easy & seamless, & saved approx $20 cab fare.

Our first visit to Cancun. We stayed here because we could afford 60,000 rewards point to get us to 5 free nights (4 x 15,000 points + 5th night free) as opposed to the 100,000 points that was required to get 5 free nights at one of the Marriott properties on Cancun island. That said, it was a very nice stay. We did not rent a car, and still managed to get around fine. The Courtyard has an arrangement with the Omni Resort on the island that you can use their facilities and get the guest discount on food (but make sure to get a bracelet from the front desk--it wasn't necessary, but would have saved significant time). A shuttle runs out to the Omni twice a day (10am & noon) and returns at 6pm. (Right next to the brand-new Mayan Museum.) There is also a cheap bus route that runs to downtown frequently (but with reduced weekend schedule) that you can catch on the other side of the road (a bit of a walk). Also, a shuttle runs every 20 minutes to the airport, where you can catch all manner of buses headed south. There is a great restaurant here (but no comp breakfast for us) and a very nice outdoor pool. And free WiFi! The only problem to complain about was a slow drain in the shower that didn't get fixed despite two requests.
