This review is a little past due, but I just love this hotel so much that I had to come back and write a review and give credit where credit is due. My husband and I stayed here a while ago for a VERY late honeymoon due to back to back overseas work. Then it was called the Royal Inn Cancun.
ARRIVAL/ CHECK IN/ ROOM; We arrived and were taken back by how beautiful the lobby was, we were greeted with champagne and it was very good. It took a while for us to get checked in and they were out of rooms when we got there ( I am not sure how that happened especially since we booked out vacation about 7-8 months out), but anyhow we had to spend one night at their sister hotel right next door they gave us a beautiful suite which was way too big for us, but were not complaining. The next day we packed up and went back across the street to our hotel. To accommodate us again we were given an upgraded suite which when we got it had a very pretty dove arrangement on the bed with flowers and a piece of wedding cake on the table that said enjoy your honeymoon. The in room bar was great it had a good selection of alcohol I didn't drink from it, but my husband did and he had a great time. Our room faced the beach so we could get up in the morning and put on our robs (which were very comfortable) and just sit outside and sip coffee or have a morning drink. The bathroom was very nice as well very spacious shower.
FOOD: The most important part the food, the food here was EXCELLENT I loved every restaurant that we ate at in this hotel. The pelican ( I believe that's the name) was my favorite. The morning buffet was the best and had different foods everyday a small portion of the food was the same, but that was like your bacon, eggs, pancakes, waffles, things of that nature. We also enjoyed the Chefs dinning you go downstairs and have dinner with a random group of people (which we really enjoyed everyone in our group was so nice), and the Chef did a great job preparing our food. My husband didn't like it as much he would have rather had the salmon (which was made for another couple who could not partake in the food that was served due to food allergies). The drinks were good not the best I ever had, but they were good and not cheap alcohol just seemed like they were stingy with the alcohol at times. We enjoyed the cafe as well we ate plenty of pastries from there and enjoyed the coffee.
POOL: that pool was amazing it's an adults only hotel so you don't have to worry about little kids running around or yelling or splashing and making to much noise.
BEACH: The beach water was BEAUTIFUL and you could actually get in the water, not like the water in Cabo at the RUI Santa Fe. We really didn't spend much time on the beach :-(, we did a lot of attractions, which we later regretted that we did one everyday which made our time there go by too fast.
NIGHTLIFE: We enjoyed going into the city and going out at night we partied at the clubs and had a great time. The taxi drivers take you right to the heart of the town to party and gave good advice of where to go based on what you like.
Long story short this is a fabulous place to say if you just want to go with your significant other, or a group of couples. We loved that is was adults only, and no we didn't see any inappropriate things either with it being adults only.
