Wow - what an amazing resort this turned out to be. My wife and I were looking for a relaxing holiday and this place had it all. From the minute we walked in and smelt the aroma of the hotel we were blown away. The rooms are well-appointed with all the mod cons. It is also well located close to Isla shopping centre and restaurants. It also has a great pool area. It is great value for money and the staff are uber-friendly. Definitely do the Chichen Itza tour which was absolutely amazing. Also check out La Destileria restaurant which has great Mexican food. Overall a great holiday experience.

I really mean every word I’m about to write, the point or my vacation was to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and I could honestly say ME by Melia has made my birthday the best birthday ever. Walking into smelling our favorite smell, cucumber melon, was great. But getting greeted with champagne while checking-in was a plus. The staff was so friendly and helpful with recommending places to eat at if we would like to step out of the hotel, what clubs are the best to go to, and what activities were a must-do!!!... The location couldn’t have been any better. It was walking distance to the mall La Isla, that has everything you need, and close enough to all the restaurants and clubs!!.. The rooms were so modern, stylish, and chic. Our luxury ocean view room was to die for, especially in the morning watching the sunrise (very romantic)!!! The hotel had many places to eat at and they were all good!!.. They also had many pools with a Maxium swim-up bar that was very convenient to get a drink. The only thing that was disappointing was having to leave and go back home, but trust us, it’s not our last visit. We plan to bring our friends with us just so that they can see what we experience with their own eyes. I wish I could sum up into words what I felt being there but its one of those things that “YOU HAVE TO BE THERE TO BELIEVE IT!!”.. -Bianca

Here it is in a nut shell.

- Stayed at the ME from Jan-31 to Feb-5 (Room 903).
- Nice modern / trendy lobby that smells great.
- Nice music.
- Pleasant greeting at check in that included Champaign.
- Clean modern room with marble floors and ceramic bathroom/shower, Rain Fall shower head, LCD TV, Bathrobes, Slippers, Safe, Iron, AC, functional windows, All lighting can be controlled from the switches behind the night table.
- Nice restaurants.
- Nice pool.
- Limited beach due to erosion through out Cancun, BUT, no corral or rocks to worry about! Compared to other sections of Cancun this portion of beach is pretty good!
- Free Internet access.
- Polite help full staff.

I could go on and on, but a lot of other reviews sum this place up in greater detail. This is not the Ritz-Carlton!! If you expect the Ritz stay at the Ritz. What you get here in my opinion is a VERY clean modern sexy hotel that looks and feels upscale. The clientele is fairly young and they know they're getting some value for there money. NO it's not cheap!! But what renovated modern hotel is? I actually think it's priced fairly for what your getting. If you want something for nothing try staying else where. Compared to other Cancun properties I've stayed in, this one in my opinion is a winner! I hope to be back next year.

To the staff at the ME, THX again for a great 4 night stay! I went home tanned, relaxed and had zero complaints about the property or the staff. Everything was smooth!

As many have noted, the first impressions- Very chic, artsy, modern, hip, smells nice lobby.
The MOMA looking art work though out is very interesting but may be lost on some for appreciation.
Only had one night there- so only the Beach House restaurant for food and the Rose Bar for cocktails.
The Rose Bar-true to the hotel theme, was very hip and chic feeling. There was a good South Beach music vibe going on. Hardly anyone was around the bar and hotel that night. Oh and did I mention it smelled nice.
On a longer stay the nice smell thing may not wear well on those more sensitive to fragrances
The Beach House Restaurant- great ocean front view for lunch and dinner, although the food was fair in quality. The prices were very reasonable. Again there seemed to be a lack of guests. The waiter was very attentive to start, but we had to go find him for a check.
The Pool area- two pools, one area during the day was definately the party pool, more South Beach-esque type music and all the beautiful people hanging out. If you are into a club scene, that's the place to hang during the day. They certainly disappeared for evening activities.
The room- we had a medium priced lagoon view room. Clean and nice size. Comfy bed. Nice sitting nook by window. Great overhead shower in stone tiled bathrom. Well appointed with polished stone floors through out.
Only complaints- the noise in the rooms. Any one in the halls sounded like they were in your room. Bathroom noise -every little sound echoes into the sleeping area.
This is probably due to the lovely stone floors throughout. Very pretty and able to amplify noise.
The La Isla Mall is easy walking distance down Avenida Kulkulcan. Several hotels south is a genuine Mayan ruin directly on a bluff above the beach.
Take the Cancun airport shuttle- it's much cheaper than a taxi. This hotel is mid hotel zone -if you can suffer through a few stops
