“Not so great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

Worst hotel in Mexico that I ever stayed in.

Plus
Easy check in
Spacious room
Good TV

Negative
Room was never sanitized. Filthy the entire time we were there.
Had no towels 4 of the 7 days
Stained beach towels
Gross food and frozen drinks... best thing I had there was the fried chicken fingers
Whole hotel falling apart. Cracking falling away concrete bits everywhere. No one even sweeps it up
Overall dirtiest hotel I have ever been to. Nothing ever smelled clean.

No outside dining
Beach is nice but trash everywhere especially the straws.

Dear guest

We appreciate you to share with us your feedback. We think we’re receiving a hard critique from your behalf and some of your comments are lacking of objectiveness, however, they are welcome as long as they help us to improve our quality and service.

It is true that we had a leaking problem with the last rainy season, which we have already solved with maintenance to the complex.

Greetings,

What a great hotel near the girlfriend have came back four times now. The beach has been renovated the last couple of years the hotel staff fantastic can never do enough for you there are far too many names to mention that the managements were fantastic there are about seven restaurants but not all of them were open because it wasn't high season and the food was outstanding you could also get premium drinks which is excellent The rooms are of good standard and you could have a lovely Oceanview or the lagoon which both are beautiful there is also an adult only Pool on the second floor and they are very strict with that with great bar staff and great drinks if you're thinking of taking a family here there is crazy golf, tennis ,kids club with plenty to do. Like I said before this is fourth time as a couple and we are bringing the children here in the summer. They also have a sister hotel which you can use their restaurants any time of the week with a free shuttle. What more can I say 10 out of 10 see you soon

We booked this hotel on the advice of our travel agent. We have never stayed at an all inclusive before so didn't know what to expect. The hotel itself is run down, cracks are showing and mold/mildew is growing in the showers. Having said that, we were rarely in the room and really, for what we paid we can't complain too much. The staff for the most part was wonderful. We were supposed to get a bottle of water in our room which we asked for every day and never got. I ended up buying a bottle of water in the gift shop near check in (don't expect change when shopping there). The food in the main eating area was hit and miss. Some dishes/places were very good while others were not. For example, bacon and sausages were deep fried making them very greasy and hard as rock. There was however, always fresh fruit around and many many other options. We dined at a few of the on site restaurants and had no complaints. The food there was of a higher standard. Overall we enjoyed our week in the sunshine and sand and would go back to the Great Parnassus.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the higher numbers we had 736 and the view is better at this end of the building.

So here we go, herded to the Golden Parnassus from the airport only to be set aside for the old bump scam. We,a group of 12 had to sign a paper agreeing to their so called upgrades at the GREAT HA HA PARNASSUS.We booked our trip in November of 2013 and even reading the reviews we said no it won't happen to us and having our travel agent say that it never happened to her people ,we were somewhat confident. So to the resort we go.Now we booked an adults only resort and you get booted to a cheaper noisy kidsworld resort it was quite a letdown. No fridge in one room, fridge out of order in another, sewer smell in the bathrooms, noisy eating area(noisy kids) we did not sign up for this.We had all been to Cuba several times and we knew what to expect for food there so we were never disappointed but when you hear people raving about how much better the food is at the resorts in Mexico,i think we arrived in a different Mexico. The staff is polite and very helpful and it only took 2 days to get my new fridge and they put some beer in it that time but never again. If they upgrade you then upgrade you, don't say that you have an oceanview room and then you have no choice to except a lagoon view or what I like to call the back yard view. There is no music in the lobby area or in an area for that matter. We made 2 trips to the golden for a little different atmosphere but still no music. It's from one extreme to the other, Noise to deafening quiet. We did not want to go there so this review will reflect that. Thanks for the staff.I don't know who to blame. Is it Sunwing because you are the ones offering the hush money which does not even cover the difference in the price of the lower class resort. We refused the offer by the way.We have been flying with Sunwing Vacations since 2006 but if nobody steps up and does something, you have lost 12 loyal customers.I'm sure you are not the only company that does this but we are your concern.Do you not read tripadvisor Mr.Parnassus or Mr.Sunwing?I could go on but I will stop.I hope to see my review published.

Room Tip: Get to the ocean side or north side away from the noisy equipment (AC, Generators etc.)

Dear guest.

At Great Parnassus all of the comments are welcome, therefore for sure your critique will be posted, it is up to the readers to take it into consideration or not.

Here at the Resort, we have separated only adult areas such as Sanctorum restaurant, Atlantis Bar, only adult pool with two Jacuzzis and bar, Le Maison de Michelle a French restaurant. We also have exclusive only adult rooms section. In addition, we offer free transportation to use the facilities of the Golden Parnassus.

We will consider the opportunity areas you bring to our attention to work on them.

Just got back...my wife and I's 4 time there. Definitely pay for the room upgrade if without kids. The lagoon view is nice. Mini bar is refilled daily, but you have to call room service for a refill. The adults only pool is quiet and worthwhile if you are without kids and want a little peace. The private breakfast lounge on the 10th floor make the upgrade worthwhile as well. If you love big crowds, noise, long bar lines, and no lounge chairs available, then head to the oceanside pools or on the beach.

We thought the food was great here, and really one of the big reasons we came back. No dinner reservations needed and we never had to wait very long for a table. El Maguay is the best kept secret for lunch. My dinner favorite was the Japanese restaurant. Another note--it rained one night and water flowed from the roof everywhere in the building. Maybe bring an umbrella!

There is a free shuttle that will take you on the hour to the adults only Golden Parnassus and it is nice to check out. Nice beach side bar and good restaurants, but much smaller place.

Careful with all of the tours they want to sell you. The "submarine" one was a joke for $100 a couple. The boat ride to it was probably more relaxing and enjoyable. Warning-- no restrooms for 2 hours on this excursion and the submarine part was only about 10 min.

Overall still had a good time. Great food, bartenders and evening shows...gotta see M. jackson show! May try a new place next trip though.

Just returned from a 5 night stay. Had a nice time. Family resort with many kids! Resort itself is set up nice...we didn't spend much time at the activity pools or swim up bar...crowded and yes getting a lounge chair is a job!! Enjoyed pool days at the adult side on 2nd floor. Hot tubs and pool nice bar with a great bartender. If they didn't have this area it would have been a long stay. Met some great people from Canada and northern US states. Enjoyed great drinks and good conversation!! We have been to cancun many times and have stayed at several resorts. Can't say I have ever had a bad trip. Food is ok...we never went hungry. Service is top notch. Bartenders are fun. All u can eat and drink and sunshine..who would complain? We got a good price on the trip..and feel we got what we paid for. Rooms are nice..clean and nice view. No fridge in room, but did call for bottled water and they brought us several. Would I go back...Sure! Only complaint is the lounge chair issue on the ocean side is a joke..chairs are saved and not even being used..rude!! Went to the golden a couple of times ate and drank...free shuttle and nice change if u are looking for something different. We did leave the resort a couple of times. Bus is easy for transportation. Nice shopping and markets a few miles away. Isle by ferry is a fun day trip. Rented golf carts, visited several bars and ate at the point, great shrimp!!! Beautiful view.
Night life is lacking at the resort...spent most nights at the Atlantis bar..great bartender! Wish they had a place you could sit outside at night for drinks....and enjoy the ocean. We had a good trip...fun is what u make of it!!!
