The Bel Air is a small boutique hotel situated on the main drag with all the other nicer hotels in Cancun. Compared with the Hilton where I stayed a previous night, the Bel Air seemed more serene and even quiet. A good place to take a book out by the pool and read it cover to cover. Everything is made very easy by the helpful staff and it's refreshing to have little extras like champagne on arrival and the dessert/coffee table in the afternoon. Poolside snack menu is available or dine in the restaurant where portions are huge. Everything is charged back to the room so you don't have to lift a finger the entire time. There's wifi in the lobby but I couldn't get it in my room. Park your car wherever you want! The staff here is very low drama and there seem to be no rules at this hotel. The only drawback, if you want to see it as one, is there isn't much you can walk to from the hotel. Appeared to be a fancy seafood restaurant across the road though. Overall, the Bel Air is a great place to chill out in a minimalist environment.

When we arrived at the Bel Air Collection we were more than pleased. Everything was just as beautiful as I had expected. We were immediately greated and given assistance with our bags. Registration went smoothly and quickly which meant we were out on the beach without delay.

The decor is clean, artsy, zen, hip and minimalist. The adults only concept is very nice. The atmosphere was relaxing, quiet and laid-back. Loved It!

The beach at the Bel Air is very nicely maintained, raked and kept clean. I would stay here for the fantastic beach alone, but fortunatly, the Bel Air is behind it.

The pool is huge and always clean as well. There are several different type of lounging experiences you can choose from. There are the beds, the rattan pods, the foam chaise or the regular chaise. All were comfortable depending on whether you preferred shade or sun. The swim-up bar is in a strange position behind the hot tub, but it didnt bother us, nor did it appear to be a bother to anyone else seeking a drink. It turned out to be a nice gathering place for people to get to know each other and trade stories about Cancun.

The restaurant, and there is only one, changes its menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At lunchtime, there is also a snack menu at the bar for burgers, nachos and such. The food was very good. We spend five nights on the all-inclusive plan and never tired of the menu.

The rooms are large and very clean. We had the king bed room without a balcony, but an amazing ocean view that anyone would love. And, eventhough there was no balcony, there were sliding doors that opened up to the outside with a banister and glass "walls" to keep you safe. We loved it. We slept with the doors open at night to hear the surf. The bed was amazingly comfortable with six pillows that were also comfy. The mini fridge was stocked daily, and, at my request, they immediately brought up extra bottled water.

The bathroom was nice and clean, which is a huge selling point for me. We always had plenty of towels and ammenities....no skimping here.

The room was cleaned brilliantly every morning. The staff was very professional and took very good care of all of our needs. We always felt comfortable and at home no matter where we were on the property. When we wanted to go out, we were given a map and they exchanged our dollars for pesos to ride the bus. They helped us decide where to go and made sure we got there with ease.

We absolutely recommend the Bel Air Collection. We loved it so much we'll be back. Yes, there had been some rennovation, but that's a good thing. Nothing is perfect, but the Bel Air comes pretty close. And if you're going to the beach to relax, this is your sanctuary! Email me if you have any particular questions. I'll be happy to help.

The Bel Air Hotel was exactly as pictured. We stayed in a Kool Lanais room. The room was large and clean. Staff was friendly and available without being pushy. There were no time share people there. Nice amenities such as free drinks, coffee, pastries, and sandwiches at different times throughout the day. Far enough from the noise, but shopping and downtown was a 5 minute bus ride away. The design asthetic is clean and minimal. Smaller hotel, not a huge resort if that's what you are looking for.

I spent a week on business in Cancun and tried to mix it with a nice stay.

Good points:

Beach
Pool
Friendly staff

Bad Points:

Checkin in
Elevators: If you suffer from claustrophobia use the stairs
The room: Bad smell, a lot of things did not worked, purple lights (!!!)
Restaurant: Its just One... I was not on an all inclusive package but its a complete joke
Fitness room... it exists but its too small

The hotel is old, they renovated it but it does not look right.

I suggest you spend your money elsewere unless you like Motel like enviroment.
