we stayed at club regina for 2 weeks and yes they do try to sell you timeshare but once we told them we were not interested they were fine although it can be interesting to see what they are offering and we got a free breakfast the room was huge with the bar pool right outside the patio door the hotel was immaculate sheets and towels were regularly changed and pool towels are available so you dont need to take any we didnt see a single cockroach or any other kind of bug and the staff were really friendly especially fabo one of the entertainment team who gave us loads of info on where to go and the reception team who were more than helpful, before we went we were a bit worried by some of the reviews we had read but we soon found out some people are too picky the only downside of this hotel is the location right at the end of the strip away from the town but the bus fare was about 30p each and they run all night so no expensive taxis the restaurant has a limited menu but the meals were always hot and delicious we did have a problem with our shower the day before we left but the manager and cleaner came straight away to try to fix it we would definitely stay here again the beach was fantastic althought the sea is a bit rough the pools were clean and apart from some very loud americans we had a great holiday we would recommend you take some mexican pesos for bus fares but american dollars are widely accepted the mayan ruins at chichen itza are well worth a visit but it can be a 12 hour day and it is very hot with not much shade to be found but the souveniers are a lot cheaper here especially if you haggle

My husband and I stayed at the Regina for our Honeymoon. We were supposed to have a 1 bedroom with an ocean view. The lobby looks nice...but when we walked into our room...we were VERY DISAPPOINTED! The room was TINY and not very nice. The shower didn't drain, the phone didn't work, the bathroom was small. When we asked the front desk if we could get a larger room and explained to them that we were on our Honeymoon...they said they were "full." How were they full when no other hotels in the area were full due to the Swine Flu!? I don't know. After they told us they would charge us an additional $119 per night to get the other side of the room opened up, which was the kitchen part, we left and went across to the Westin Hotel & Spa. We couldn't last another day at this hotel. The rooms were horrible and the customer service was even worse. Don't be fooled by the pictures! Do not stay here!

I will not recommend this place at all. very unprofessional people and kept me there against my will for five (5) hours. hotel director, you need to check very close the marketing department because they are doing a terrible job. very nice rooms and well located for people that wen to get some sun.

Before we went on this trip I read many reviews on this site, many of them not great so I was a little concerned. What a waste of thought and time. This resort was so beautiful, clean, and the most beautiful beach in Cancun. With the recent scare of the flu in Mexico, it was not full of people, which I really enjoyed, but each day was better than the last. We relaxed, enjoyed the ocean view from our room, great food and a friendly and very accomodating staff. We will go back there again and again. My best tip is to enjoy every minute here...time flies before coming home to reality! It was truly incredible.
