Hi iv just returned back from RLA hotel after being there for 11 nights.
We left Manchester airport on the dreamliner which was a lovely plane as we had the premium seats which were uncomfortable with the TV in your arm rest as I'm only 5ft4 I had difficulties getting out of the seat as the TV was in the way and the seat in front was to close.
Arrived at hotel and on first impressions I was very pleased the reception staff were very nice and we were upgraded to a better room free of charge without asking.
The hall ways have a very bad smell which I found out is the drains but it is like that all over mexico, the hotel it self is very clean and the hard working staff are always cleaning from morning till night. The restaurants the food not so good we booked the al I carte restaurants which were bad they bring you a menu but it's set so you have no choice that is in all of there so called up class restaurants
The entertainment staff worked hard all day and night trying to keep people occupied and had some good acts on at night time so well done them.
We also went out to a ti restaurant which was very good food was a good price drinks expensive
The hotel does have a lot of American visitors who ate very load so if that's not your thing than don't go

Room Tip: We had a room with a view of the sea

I stayed at this resort as a VIP, all inclusive at the villas adults only portion of the resort. From the second I arrived to the moment I left I was treated extremely well and felt appreciated. The resort looks amazing right from the moment you walk in. Everyone is more than willing to help you. Almost every single worker is appreciative of your business and show it to the best of their ability. The grounds are just beautiful and well kept. Now on to the good stuff. The food was delightful, well cooked and plenty.Top quality meats are the only meats I tasted on my trip to this resort. Every restaurant was interesting and offered a different taste of the world. The common dining area offered many different foods which were all delicious. There is a nice little café in the lobby which had lovely coffee and light snacks for those with a sweet tooth. There are many bars in the resort which offer different drinks. Top shelf liquor is offered in the lobby bar and must be requested by name. Make sure to get to know your bartender and tip them well as they will take care of you every time they see you. The room I stayed in was absolutely wonderful. The view was amazing and turn down service was always provided without asking for it. Overall this resort was amazing and worth every bit and then some. If you have any questions feel free to request an answer.

Room Tip: Adults only VIP is always a good option to choose.

One of my biggest concerns staying in an all inclusive hotel was "what if the food isn't good"? The restaurants in this hotel are wonderful. You will not go hungry. Don't miss the Asian restaurant. Yum!

I just got back from my wonderful vacation in Cancun. This hotel is great!! It is very clean and the staff is wonderful. The all inclusive is really all inclusive, the food is great.

The only reason why I did not give it 5 star rating is because the future and beds need update. The beds and furniture is outdated. But overall this is a great hotel and the location is also great.

Just reluctantly returned from a 2 week holiday with my family (myself, husband and there children aged 19,18, and 9yrs old). This was the second time we have been to Cancun, Mexico. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated very well by the reception staff. They explained where all the amenities were and everything we needed to know about the hotel and its running. We had 2 rooms, both were very spacious and extremely clean with excellent views from the balconies. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels sometimes twice a day, and they even came in the evening to turn down the bedding, turn on the air conditioning, and tidy up a little. Food was of an excellent standard and there was a variety of choices from the Mediterranean, Steakhouse, Mexican, Italian as well as the main buffet restaurant (there is also a Japanese restaurant which we didn't try). Waiter staff were very good and attentive to our needs and were always willing to assist you with anything during your meal. Around the pool was always very clean and there was always sun loungers available. Bar waiter staff around the pool were a god sent, especially Jaun. As soon as you had finished a drink there was already a drink there for you. Entertainment well what can I say about them except FANTASTIC !!! These guy were amazing they entertained you from 10 o'clock in the morning till 11 o'clock at night (only taking time out for food). Special shout out to Katia, Vanessa, Aldo, Alberto, jack, Silvia, Eric, Ouzie and all the other entertainment staff that worked behind the scenes, you all deserve a big pay rise xxx There was always activities to do during the day.
This hotel is very central to the night life of Cancun, only 5 mins walk to the main strip of Cancun where Coco Bongos and all the other pubs and clubs are. The entertainment team will even take you to all the trendy clubs and get you in to their VIP sections where you have all your drinks free and waiter service for a fee.

Just returned from celebrating my 16th birthday at RIU and can I say they have outdone themselves again. When I arrived at the lobby and looked out and saw the pool all I could say was WOW, WOW, WOW. The place was jumping. The front desk was first rate upon arrival. Very professional, courteous and always wiling to help. The buffet was fabulous and I had a lot of options to choose from. I liked how they have people cooking fool outside on the patio of the buffet area and you can sit and look over the ocean and people watch at the pool. My room view of the ocean and pool was second to none. I was looking at the water aerobics instructor and she quite good. I felt sorry for those women because she was killing them. There were activities going on all the time. There are plenty of sitting areas around the pools and people claim the pool beds early. The beach was nice but I was disappointed that I couldn't run on the beach because they are separated by boardwalks. So instead of running I walked 6 miles shopping. Don't bother with the shopping across the street you will be disappointed. Walk further down to the left until you come to the Mexican Outlet. It is huge and the prices are good. If you walk further down to your left toward CoCo Bongo you will enter the flea markets. Stay firm and talk them down I got some good bargains. There is a Mexican Outlet in that area but it is smaller. The Carribean Party Boat was the best and the dinner layout and the show on the island was FAB, FAB, FAB. It was better that what I imagined. It leaves at 7:30 and you come back at 12:midnight refreshed from having a good time. You can catch the bus to the party boat. The buses run 24/7 and only costs $1.00. CoCo Bongo was exciting but ladies wear some comfortable shoes. Just because your ticket says VIP Express Seating guarantee that you will get in quicker or get a seat. A lot of us had been standing in line for an hour found out the hard way. Get your ticket from CoCo Bongo ticket office if you can upon arrival. The hotel sent, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, tequila and a fruit basket to my room to help me celebrate my 16th birthday. Housekeeping service was the best. Thanks RIU for giving me the best birthday ever. See ya next year.

Room Tip: Corner rooms on the higher floors give you the best view.
