This was our fifth stay at a Riu, and just like we knew it would be, it was amazing! Once again people, do not listen to the ridiculous bad reviews people write...it is all BS...attention or something is what these people must lack. And yes there is somewhat of a musty smell, but it is the same smell that I smelled at a brand spankin new hotel in Panama last year that wasn't even totally finished yet...It's the tropicals. The service at this Riu surpasses all hotels and resorts we have ever stayed at...be it the bar...buffet...poolside...beach...but most of all the lobby bar...Ceasar and The Bomb...and Albunio...miss you guys...craving my chocolate martini...The beauty of this place is breathtaking...the ocean water is beyond beautiful...the beach...the staff...the food like no other, especially if you are a seafood lover...never once tried the al a cartes, and we were there for 12 days, only because we just cant be bothered with a time commitment. The staff are cleaning constantly. Met great people,Hi Jay and Jill! Shopping is great because it is so close, walking distance. Grab the R2 bus in front of the Riu Cancun to go downtown shopping...cost under a buck one way. The only thing that I didn't like is I did not know that Cancun could be so windy...hate wind!!! We stayed in one of the rounded corner balcony suites which was really a nice touch. So the next time you decide to book a vacation to Cancun, don't hesitate...just book it!!!
