“El Conquistador - the "Best of the Best"!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

The highlight of our 7-day vacation in Cancun was having dinner at El Conquistador Restaurant on September 9, 2013. Our server, Pedro Blas, provided the best meal service at any Cancun restaurant that we visited. Pedro helped us make excellent food and drink selections and ensured that everything we ordered was exactly what we wanted. Chef Jose Wiz Fernandes prepared his unique recipe for red snapper on a bed of tempura zucchini with a sweet potato puff on the side. This dish was baked to perfection! The presentation of the entire meal was outstanding. We had the opportunity to compliment Chef Fernandes when he came to our table. The maitre'D, Jesus Castillo, and his staff worked well together to provide an exceptional meal. We hope this staff can work together for many years.

We give El Conquistador Restaurant in Cancun "Five Stars" for meal quality, presentation, service and ambience for a memorable evening!

“THE BEST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

This restaurant is by far the crown jewel of Cancun. Jesus and his Staff make you feel like you are part of their family. Their presentation of food and desserts as well as the atmosphere are excellent. The restaurant will be moving to the Islander and we hope that they will all be moving along with it.Jesus and his staff are what makes the El Conquistador and we hope that we will see Jesus and his staff again next year.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

This is always one of our favorite restaurants to eat at. Unfortunately with the Mayan changing hands the restaurant will be moved to the Islander and they will NOT be taking the staff with them. The staff ARE the El Conquistador. We hope they will reconsider and take them to new location. The food is excellent as well as the service. They always make your feel like you are family, especially Jesus.

“Goodbye to a Great Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is the last year of El Conquistador, at the Royal Mayan.... The best restaurant in Cancun, will be closed. It is very sad that good things had to end....
We used to have a family dinner every year, at our week 29 at the Royal Mayan. or 30 at the Royal Cancun, since 1992... We put our best clothes, have dinner like no one, and enjoy the guitar of Jorge....

We take a picture of the family every year, and we have seen our kids grown up, now they are 24, 22 and 15, they enjoy as us the food, the good service and the music at El Conquistador...

We really will miss the best food, the best service in town, the best atmosphere...,everyone assist you with a smile, the food tastes better that way!!

And good bye to the "Cerezas Jubilee", Jubilee Cherries! mmmm!!!

“Great meat cuts, cooked to perfection.”

The filet mignon is just perfect, and make sure to get a glass of their really good Tempranillo wine as well. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is extraordinary.
