“World Ventures Mega Dream Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

From the moment we arrived we felt very pampered. Our room was clean and inviting. The in room jacuzzi was a major bonus. The food was amazing no mater where we ate. Our club had a dinner for 2800 of us and the resort handled it with ease. We watched several weddings from our balcony, the brides arrived in a horse draw carriage, so beautiful. The hotel transportation got us were we wanted to go quickly and comfortably. The grounds are beautiful. This was truly a Dream Trip!

On a recent trip to Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, my family had a wonderful time. We went snorkeling, visited Tulum and took a day trip to Beach Palace. I can't say enough about the staff at the Sunrise Kids club. Maricruz, Azucena, Gistina, Karla, Sandy and M. Jose were so inviting for my kids. We celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday at the resort and the Kids Club surprised her with a surprise party. They had everything that a party could have. The most delicious cake you can sink your teeth into, a pinata for all othe kids and dancing.

Some of the negative things we noticed at the resort was the construction at the Sunrise. Unfortunately we stayed at the same time when several sections were being remodeled. We had a tough time getting thru the construction. Our shoes were ruined from walking in sheetrock dust and having to share the stairs with people carrying mattresses, safes and concrete was not what I call inviting. Hopefully the construction will be almost complete in the next few months. I loved the Sunrise section because of the Kids Club was really close. The Nizuc section was a bit crowded to me. Next trip to Moon Palace, I think I would stay at the Moon Grand just because of how quiet it was and the rooms were amazing. The pools in that section was great too included a surfboard that my kids didn't want to get off. The entertainment staff there was the best. I don't recall their names but my kids loved them. They taught my kids how to make bracelets and also played a few games of volleyball with us.

Room Tip: If you have kids, the Sunrise section would be ideal. If you want a more peaceful and quiet vacatio...

Wonderful resort with spectacular grounds and service. No one was ever rude in the least bit. Rooms are spacious, beautiful, and very clean. Private balcony has magnificent view of ocean and sunrise. Our favorite restaurant was the Manglar in the Nizuc lobby. The same hostesses (Gabriela and Noemi) were working for our entire stay and knew us by name after just our first breakfast. They really made our stay and meals more personable by greeting us by name and seating us with smiles. We don't get that personal greeting in our small home town. Excellent service, food, and activities and facilities all around.

My wife and I went to the moon palace in July 2012 for our honeymoon. Our first view of the hotel was amazing, greeted by friendly 'bellboys' fighting over one another to see who could help us first. At reception we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist with champagne! We were taken to our room and thought it was perfect. View was excellent, room was quite large and the jacuzzi was just an added treat. We used our free resort credits on upgrading to an even better room, buying Jewlerry and cigars, when we got to the check out desk at the end of our holiday we were presented with a bill. Everything you buy will be taxed which we was unaware of. There are I think 12 restaurants in the resort and to be honest..I wasn't 100% satisfied. I wanted to try authentic Mexican food and that is something they do not have. But I would definitely go back and surely will in the near future.

The three attached resorts: Sunrise, Nizuc, and Moon Grand are all on the same property and guests can use the facilities and dine at the different restaurants at each. A Bus arrives every 10 minutes to shuttle guests between the three areas. Riding the bus grows tiresome. I stayed in the Nizuc section of the resort. The room was slightly worn and seemed to need some upgrading. The air conditioning work well, but never shut off. We were literally shivering. We switched it off, but the room grew very stuffy. there is a Jacuzzi tub in the room that on first sight seems romantic, but after a few days seemed like we were on a porn set. The mattress was not luxurious, nor was the linens and towels.

The pools were quite nice here, as well as the staff. My biggest complaint with the experience is the food. There are numerous theme restaurants and buffets. I found the food to be quite average. For example they serve canned neon orange nacho cheese at almost all the lunch spots. We are in the middle of Mexico, and I don't expect to eat fake cheese. This signified much of the food selections: all quite processed and not light. There were some nice breakfast buffets, as well as salad bars but all in all we felt very unhealthy after eating these meals. I would compare the meals to a step below an average Carnival cruise. I would actually compare the whole resort to a carnival cruise with its clean but very broad approach to family fun. There were corny shows at night, large buffets that looked better than they tasted, and over 2,000 people all trying to enjoy a "peaceful" vacation.

Room Tip: The Moon Grand are the newest rooms here, and offer slightly more privacy.

Myself and my family stayed in the Grand Section of the moon palace this month for 2 weeks if i am honest the place was to big with all the food outlets serving the same food. Bamboo and the Italian were not the best food service fantastic though. There is no way this place is a 5 star 4 maybe. Out Rep from Thomas Cook was a complete waste of time just tried to sell trips from TC even told us that week could not use our room credits for trips even though we found out we could use them it was too late to arrange anything .
the service around at Los Tacos was truly fantastic Louis was the best waiter . for anyone not thinking it is true there are CROCS on site think again we seen at least 5
Q , would we go back defiantly NOT
And as for the rude obnoxious Americans they were the most rude arrogant people we have ever met apart from Brian & Jone lovely people

My husband and I spent our honey moon there last year October....... We were treated like royalty..... the staff was very nice and helpful.....

One day we decide to spend most of the day at the pool side..... The staff from the Manglar restaurant made us the most amazing drinks.......

I would like to thank Carmen Suarez, Carlos Uc, Jorge Baas and the Manager Raquel Villagran.

Thank you guys, you made our stay very special and memorable......

The Gittens......

Room Tip: we had a corner room it was quiet and it was facing the pool.....
