My husband and I along with our best friends just got back from a week at the Park Royal. It was a fabulous trip. The staff at the resort were amazing. Mario and Leonardo at the La Duna bar were absolutely awesome, they always had drinks ready for us and remembered what we wanted every single time. We spent the majority of our time at the upper bar because of those two. Manuel at the swim up bar took care of us in the evenings when the upper bar closed and he was also very good at remembering what we wanted and would have them ready when we walked up. We usually ate breakfast at the buffet which was always good, the staff knew as Americans we liked bacon and would always bring a plate of bacon and a basket of toast to our table. Felix always made sure we sat in his area so he could take care of us. We ate at the Italian restaurant three nights and the service was impeccable and the food terrific. I particularly liked the risotto with prawns and the guys liked the tenderloin. The activities staff (Jovani, Rosio, Carlos, Paco and Jhonatan) made sure there were plenty of things to do from beach parties to pool aerobics. It seemed like they worked 20 out of 24 hours helping the guests. Shopping was very close, across the street, and Starbucks had free wi-fi. The grill by the pool was where we got a quick lunch/snack in the afternoon, the hamburgers were really good and the guy (I cant remember his name unfortunately) was very friendly and a good cook. We were able to upgrade to a presidential suite with a view of the ocean and that made the evenings very pleasant in the hot tub. We will definitely good back.

I just returned from my 4th stay at Park Royal Cancun. My trip was the week of May 9 th. As always everything was terrific. All the staff was quiet amazing always remembering your names, drink, food preferences from year to year!! They make you feel as if you are truley part of the family. Isamel a man who worked around the pools and towel section who is a pleasure everytime always has a hello and can I help you everytime I see him so nice!! Mario and Leonardo who work the top pool bar are soo very friendly, and never forget what your drinking! They will even holler and ask if you'd like another when they see you getting low :) wonderful guys!! Emmanuel at the swim up bar in the evenings was always there with a smile and was more than happy to help with anything!! All of these guys are so talented!! Breakfast was soo yummy every morning, with everything from eggs or omelets made to order to fajita meat, sweetbreads, melons...the choices were endless. I will say that if you want bacon and toast you need to order this with your waiter when getting your coffee. They are all so nice and egar to help I hate to say the only name I remember is Edgar, but they were all very nice. The lunch grill outside has the best hamburgers!! (better ones than i had anywhere else) The young man cooking is very clean and efficient and wow can he cook a burger!! The entertainment staff worked hard to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves, and everyone did! I never seen them with people who wasn't smiling and laughing :) The rooms were okay. A basic setup with 2 twin beds, a living room with a Murphy bed and a balcony with loungers and a jacuzzi (in a presidential unit) the maid service made sure everything was kept clean and even left us beautiful towel animals such kindness :) everyone was working so hard around the whole place keeping it very clean! The Italian restaurant has the most delectable dishes!! The brocoli soup is addictive :) the piazzas are very tasty and the braised beef tenderloin with rosemary sauce is out of this world!! So tender you can cut it with a butter knife and cooked to perfection every time :) the chicken parmesan is wonderful as well is the mahi mahi...actually I can think of nothing served the that wasn't absolutely delious!! The buffet restaurant is quite good also and has a wide verity of choices and everynight a different theme (texmex, spanish, carribeian etc) always able to find something to enjoy. I had a great time here and will return many more times I'm sure. The only con was that people traveling though rci received better Ai rates and room than the members. Which was a bit disappointing. Other than that everything was great. The staff really make this place what it is :) so awesome!! P.s the gift shop/deli shop there no longer takes US dollars only pesos.

I stayed at the Park Royal for 10 nights in mid and late February. I normally wouldn't choose to stay in an all inclusive but convenience and some other factors made this a good choice in the end. The hotel is located in the Hotel Zone along with a vast collection of other hotels and condos, restaurants, night clubs and malls. Opposite the Park Royal there is one of the fancier malls, La Isla. Rooms seemed large and nicely maintained. Large bathrooms, comfortable beds, plenty of complimentary bottled water every day. Internet signal was strong but there was a hefty charge to get it. One strange thing in the bedroom I had was the limited number of power points which made using laptops, charging cell phones and using other electrical equipment rather awkward. One of the hotel employees, though, helped me out by rustling up an improvised pow4r-board. All inclusive hotels are not known for their food but the main buffet restaurant at the Park Royal did a decent job with a variety of offerings, daily changes and friendly serving staff. There is also a speciality Italian restaurant which I did not try. Around the pool area there are bars and a snack servery with some of the most mediocre food I've ever tasted (don't try the nachos). Its tempting to stick around hotels like the Park Royal, enjoying its facilities and the beach but I advise people to hop on the frequent urban buses that run along the main highway and sample whats on offer in Cancun town where food and services are much more reasonably priced.

I just wanted to say what a great time I had at the Park Royal in Cancun Mexico. The hotel was great and provided a wide variety of things to do and entertainment. The food was excellent and the so were the drinks. What I was really impressed with though, were the people. The service we were provided was excellent. There was only one thing I didn't like so much, was when I had one of my friends that was a local and wanted to come to my hotel to visit with me, he was only allowed the stay in the lobby :( I would like to give special thanks to a few people that were working at Park Royal and say that they really made my stay there a great experience. Some of the entertainers like John, Rocio and Carlos were great people that always included me in activities and were a great source of information every time I had a question just about anything. Also Alejandro who is one of the servers that works the patio of the restaurant. Every breakfast he made sure I had everything I needed, he knew me by my name, and was very careful to make sure I had all I needed. Oh and also Pavel, the life guard on the beach at Park Royal. Thank you again to John, Rocio, Carlos and Alejandro and Pavel for making me feel so great in Cancun, Mexico. It was my first time there and I plan on coming back. Thanks!
