This is hurricane season in Mexico so there were not a lot of people there. I think the most people we saw at the pool at any given time was 30! It was like we had the entire place all to ourselves. The rooms are immaculately kept as well as the grounds and the entire hotel. The service at the pool was outstanding as well as the service in all of the restaurants. There is a Thai restaurant an Argentinian Steak House a Japanese Hibachi and an American bar and grill. We dined in all of them and the food was fantastic. We were almost unable to finish the surf and turf for two at the steak house! There is watersports desk outside by the pool which made making plans to dive, jetski, snorkel or parasail or whatever you want to do easy. The watersports center is a short walk across the street and eat in The Shrimp Bucket when you are there. Great Mojito's and great food and service there too. They serve a "vacation size" drink which is about 40 ounces so one Mojito and you will be doing the mambo before you know it!
I would recommend this hotel for anyone planning a romantic vacation or honeymoon they are also family friendly too. If you dive make sure you make a plan to go to the Cenote, it's in the middle of the jungle and you dive in fresh water through pitch black underground caverns with flashlights that exit to amazing sunlight filled rooms. It's something any diver will never ever forget.
This was a great hotel with a great staff and great restaurants and amenities. My wife and I are Marriott fans and this one is a winner.

The CasaMagna Resort was the only Resort I've been to that was actually more beautiful in person then on the website. The staff was amazing, excellent food, great location, rooms were beautiful and the view of the ocean was beautiful. I loved my trip and the experience that wonderful CasaMagna staff helped to create.

After staying just one night, my personal bathroom toiletries became missing while I was away from the room. I immediately informed the front desk and manager, for whom I filled out a missing items report. Upon review of the report, the hotel manager accused me of "lying for money," then yelled at me an inch from my face, AND threatened to call the Mexican police on me over the matter. When I informed him of the 100+ people staying at the hotel with us for a wedding, he offered me $50 to cover around $180 worth of toiletries. I asked only to be refunded the items, the money was of no remedy in the time frame. I was left to borrow toiletries during stay and buy new at home.

I booked this hotel for $72 a night including breakfast. At check-in they upgraded us to Ocean View when we told them we just got married.

First night was great

Second night the hotel hosted sort of a sales event for some company and 200 guests suddenly showed up. One of the elevators to our room was out of service, so it became a nightmare to go up and down since we were now sharing the only good elevator with these guys ( most of them very impolite, I think they are known as "nacos" over there). It took us 5-10 minutes to go up and down every time. That morning somebody called into our room at 8:00 am, we were still asleep. It was a salesman from a stand in the lobby area offering some kind of tour. I don't understand how and why the hotel allowed this guy to call us, he knew my name and everything. The last day, I guy knocked on the door at 10:00 am (check-out is at 1:00pm) saying he needed to get in and count the snacks and pops from the bar, I said NO WE NEED PRIVACY he insisted and said he will stop by again in 5 minutes!. Crazy.

All Staff extremely friendly, from housekeepers, to pool staff, masseuses, to restaurant and front desk/bellmen. We had a wonderful time at this hotel, and very rarely had a communication problem. There is a JW Marriott right next door, but it was undergoing renovation and guests were referred to Casa Magna for restaurant and pool facilities. The pool and view of the sea were amazing. Someone was cleaning at this hotel all the time. The rooms were slightly smaller than a typical Marriott, but we had a large balcony with an ocean view that was very relaxing after a long day of activities. There were some large rocks and rough waves that kept us out of the sea, but that was the same all along the hotel zone. We didn't miss it because of the pool. The Argentina steak house in the hotel is a must for dinner. I had the steak/lobster (2 tails)/alaskan crab meal and my husband had the lobster dinner (3 tails) (total $96 US), and this was the first time either of us couldn't finish out lobster, only because we were stuffed. This is also were breakfast is served daily, with a wide variety of both local and american cuisine. We even got to see a wedding from our balcony at the beautiful gazebo next to the water.
