The rooms are great and we had a wonderful view of the ocean. They have several different pools and pool for adults only. The food was terrific, staff was exceptional, spa was just the relaxation that I needed. I highly recommend staying here!

very nice hotel just a few shortcomings, the ice machine on my floor never did work over the 5 days we were there, we had some carpet nails that we stepped on and it took 3 phone calls to get someone to fix them. Staff was very nice, breakfast buffet ok but over priced. Pool and beach were very nice, no real snorkeling-no reefs, but we did do parasailing and rented jet skis right on the beach-note-cash only. Not much for teens to do at the hotel but we didn't stay on the property much, the ease of using the bus system was terrific. Take a cab if you go into downtown Cancun, much easier that taking the bus and alot of stops. Always felt safe.

My wife and I just returned from a week stay at the JW Marriott. It was out 4th trip to Cancun, but our 1st at the JW. We've stayed at the Hyatt, Fiesta Americana and the Ritz and the JW is now our all around favorite. Business is terribly slow in Cancun right now, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We stayed on the Club 91 level and were pleased with the Club 91 facility and the staff (Carol and Glaucia were great!). The pool area is top notch and the service was excellent. In fact, service everywhere in the hotel is absolutely wonderful. The staff is friendly, very well trained and always ready to help. We will definitely return to the JW!

Our favorite restaurants for the week were: La Destileria (Mexican), Casa Rolandi (Italian) and Laguna Grill (Seafood)

The only downside is the limited beach area. From previous trips, I remember Cancun having a nice wide beach. Apparently, the hurricane in 2005 changed all of that. There is very little beach left - probably less than 10 yards of beach at high tide. There are places to get in the water at low tide and folks were playing in the ocean, but there is virtually no place to sit on the beach. Looking in either direction from the JW, it looked like the same story.

So, if you have to have a beach, Cancun is probably not your place. But, if you want a place with wonderful resorts, plenty of restaurants, lots of shopping and wonderful people, Cancun is a great choice. OBTW - the deals were pretty good right now.

Off season was the perfect time to be here! The resort was beautiful & the customer service was wonderful. Since there weren't a lot of people on the resort, special attention was paid to those customers who where there. I'd highly recommend this resort to anyone.
